INCONSISTANCY: Maiden name is supposedly not WEBER as above text states.
Wayne Sprow, descendant, (and father of Janie) states that the text is wrong
and he knows from memory that the name was BRECHISEN and that "he has some old letters to back him up on this". This info from correspondence with Rod Miller in Sep 1995 who's also a SPROW/SPRAU researcher. Rod shows Louisa's husband's father as marrying a Louisa WEBER b 1812 d 1879. Info published in "Ohio Records & Pioneer Families" under "Defiance County, Ohio Pioneer Families" shows that George m Louisa WEBER, b 12-8-1838 and d/o Philip and Margaret (BRECHEISEN) WEBER of Germany. Since there is more than one Louisa in this lineage of Sprow's, I believe the surnames have been interchanged until some clear documentation can be found, neither BREICHESEN or WEBER should be taken for granted. The "Pioneer Family" article is most likely an extraction of someone else's research as most county genealogical societies have a "Pioneer Family" certificate you can obtain if you can show that your ancestors were in the county before a certain date set by the gen society. In other words, so far all we've been able to see so far is "someone else's work".
A long history written by Emma Rothar (or a member of her family) was passed
around the SPROWS years ago, and she shows that "George Powel SPROW (1833-1902) married Louise BRECHEISEN (1838-1915)".
This branch of the SPROW family is not on my direct lineage. To determine
what Louise's maiden name is for sure, it would be advisable to check several
or most of their children's birth certificates to see what the mother (Louise) name is. If no birth records are found, possibly death, marriage or
obituaries.
Death certificate image. #14372. Name listed as "Loise Sprow", Delaware Twp., Defiance Co., Ohio, March 28, 1915, aged 86y 8m 20d, widowed. Died of endocarditis. Born Dec. 8, 1838 in Germany to P. Brechisen b Germany and M. Weaver b Germany. Fred Johns of Sherwood, Ohio was the informant. Buried Sherwood Cem., April 1. NOTE: The age at death, the date of death, and date of birth do not add up. If she died March 28, 1915 at 86y 8m 20d as shown, she would've been born in 1828, not 1838.

The one acre of land on which the school building was situated, was deeded by
John Brand to the twp board of education May 12, 1894. The school may have
