Arley P. Becker, 75, or 140 Main St., Fruitland, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Unity Hospital.

Survices was 10 am on Saturday, Feb 3 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Roger Hubbard of the Letts Bible Church officiated. Pallbearers were John Carsten, Greg Lindle, Tom Sneedon, Jimmy Painter, Larry Gage, Steve DeRiemacker, and David Cooper. Burial was in Island Cemetery.

Visitation were from 3 to 8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Arley Becker Memorial Fund.

Mr. Becker was born on Aug. 12, 1925, in Muscatine, the son of Herman and Margaret Shurck Becker. He married Nellie M. Foor on May 10, 1949, in Iowa City.

He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, playing cards and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a construction worker and after his retirement, he spent most of his time remodeling his daughter's homes.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Becker, of Fruitland; four daughters, Mary Ann Gatzke and her husband, Donald, of Atalissa, Arla Becker Stapp and her husband Gary, of Grandview, Connie Hawley and her husband, Curt, of Loveland, Colorady, and Jody Becker of Muscatine; one step-son, Richard Hathaway and his wife Penny of Clayton, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gertrude Carsten of Davenport and Virginia "Pete" Lindle of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marian Painter and Mildred DeRiemacker.

[25190] Frederick David "Buzz" CROCKER, 52, of Bunker Hill Road, Six Mile
Run, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at his home. He was born March 18,
1952 in Huntingdon, a son of Johnny and Melissa Jean (Foore) Crocker of
Loysburg. He was preceded in death by his father in 1966. On Dec. 23,
1978, at the Six Mile Church of God, he married Linda Hitchens. They
celebrated 119 seasons together. He is survived by his mother, wife and
the following brothers and sisters: Bonnie, married to Armin Hellmund,
of Alexandria, Va.; Johnny Crocker and his wife, Ava, Chesapeake Bay,
Va.; Pam, married to John Mark Zimmerman, Six Mile Run; and Penny, wife
of Carl Hyde of Manns Choice. Also surviving are a special cousin who is
a sister through love, LaRue (Crocker) Hammond of Gaithersburg, Md.; and
special cousins, two beloved nieces, 10 beloved nephews, four
great-nephews and two great-nieces. Mr. Crocker was a member and
faithfully attended the Round Knob Church of God since his youth. He was
the person at the church who was in charge of the building fund and all
building projects done at the church for over 20 years. He was a
graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, Class of 1971. While attending
high school, Mr. Crocker played football and baskethall. After high
school graduation, he attended Thaddeus Stevens Trade School in
Lancaster, graduating from the carpenters curriculum in 1973. He was
employed by Ritchey & Luther, Saxton; Paul Clark, Bedford; and most
recently as a union carpenter for Local #950 of which he was a member.
He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, stone masonry, hunting and especially
his basset hounds. Mr. Crocker was a faithful husband, son, brother,
cousin, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He impacted many lives in his
short life. He was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly
missed. He was healthy and strong until July 3, 2004. He fought a
valiant battle against malignant brain tumors. A funeral service will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Round Knob Church of God with
the Rev. Dr. Stanley Cordell and the Rev. Bernie Fortna officiating. The
interment will be held privately by the family. [Huntingdon Daily News, Huntingdon, PA]

[30937] Darius D. Denny, age 83, of Groveport, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015. Born in 1931 at Hot Coal, W.Va. to the late James and Elsie Denny. Darius (his friends called him Denny) lived in Sophia, W.Va. for 18 years. While going to High School, he worked as a projectionist in the theater for three year before joining the Air Force from 1950 thru 1954. He was a Korean War Veteran. After the military he worked at North American for 16 years, went to Bliss College where he graduated with a Business Administration Degree in 1962 and worked at Jeffrey Mining and Mfg. for 26 years before retiring on December 1, 1995. Darius was married to two great wives, Bobbie J. Fox Denny for 38 years (she died in 1992) and Delores M. Barr Denny for 10 years (she died in 2010). Also preceding him in death was a stepson Billy G. Fox. Surviving are four stepchildren, David L. (Kathy) Fox, Lynda (Joe) Sayre, Daniel (Sen) Barr and Sandra (Frank) Davis; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and his sister-in-law and dear friend, Wilma Brehm. Visitation will be from 12Noon until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main Street in Groveport. Services will be held at the Reed funeral home in Mentone at 2:30 p.m. Sunday for Mrs. Emma KING, 88, who died today at 3 a.m. in her home 2 1/2 miles west of Mentone. She had been ill one week.
Mrs. King was born May 27, 1872, in Lithopolis, O., to Mr. and Mrs. David FALER. She married Charles KING in 1898. He preceded her in death in 1936.
She had been a resident of Fulton county for 62 years. She was a member of the Mentone Baptist church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Clara Eve) BAKER, Mentone; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one foster-son, Dewey KING, R.R. 2, Rochester.
Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

Leaving to mourn her loss a father and mother, one sister, and three brothers: Mrs. D. A. Euler, of near Tontagany; Park, of Bowling Green; Hugh, of Toledo, and Emerson, at home; one brother, Gordon, preceding her in infancy, besides many relatives and friends. In her childhood the family moved to the present home near Haskins, Ohio, where she was completing her junior year in the High School and was loved by all who knew her. She was a regular attendant at Sunday school, uniting with the First Baptist Church in the spring of 1922. The relatives from a distance were: Mrs. Alice B. Cheney, of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. George Hickle and Cora Hickle, of Lancaster; Mrs. Irene Balthaser, of Amanda; Mrs. John Kaffenberger, of Bucyrus; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Frank D. MUSSELMAN, 73, life resident of the Macy community, died at his home three and one-half miles northeast of Macy at 2 a.m. today. He had been in failing health the last four years and suffered a heart attack two weeks ago which contributed to his death.
Mr. Musselman was a registered pharmacist and in his early life operated a drug store in Macy. Most of his life he was a farmer. He was a member of the Macy Christian church.
Born Nov. 6, 1874, to William and Priscilla (FOOR) MUSSELMAN, Frank Musselman married Maud ZARTMAN in Macy in 1901. He lived all his life in the same home.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lepha SMITH of Indianapolis, Mrs. Opal SAVAGE of Macy and Mrs. Lova POWELL of Rochester; two sons, Dr. Glenn MUSSEMAN of Terre Haute and Donald MUSSELMAN of Rochester; two brothers, S. H. MUSSELMAN of Macy and Harvey MUSSEMAN of Hartford City, and fourteen grandchidren.
Services will be conducted in the Macy Christian church at 2 p.m. Tuesday and burial will be in Plainview cemetery in Macy. The body will be taken from the Zimmermn Brothers funeral home to the residence Sunday morning.

In 1867 he removed to Shawnee county, Kan., where he became one of the leading farmers and stock dealers. Mr. Wilson died on 25 January, 1885, at Topeka, Kansas".
