_Harold Dean DRUMMOND __+ | |--Harold Evan DRUMMOND Dr | |_Emma Catherine STREET _
"My full name is Harold Evan Drummond. I am an only child. My mother was Catherine Street", from January 1998 email of Dr. Evan Drummond.
"Dr. Evan Drummond Ph.D - Senior Associate Director
Dr. Drummond is a professor in the Food & Resource Economics department and is the author of a standard text in his field Agricultural Economics. He has won numerous teaching awards. Before joining the Honors program he was interim dean and assistant dean for undergraduate affairs in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Among other things, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of the Residential Honors College at Hume Hall.
Dr. Drummond can answer questions regarding: The Honors Program, Advising in Hume and Hume Technical Assistance." [University of Florida website, 2007]
From email of May 2007: Ray and Velma Foor Drummond are my paternal grandparents. Ray was a Methodist minister who worked in northern Colorado and Wyoming going into communities where there was no church and establishing one. As he got the congregation established, they moved on to another unserved community. One of those communities was Lander, Wyoming (not Leander). Several years ago my father went to a high school reunion there, so they were there in the early 1930's.
I think (I will check it out with the authority) that my father was born on June 8, 1916 in Xenia , Ohio . He is one of four sons Ray and Velma had-Don, Harold, Wendell, and William in that order. Wendell and William live here in Gainesville , so at the next visit I will get full names, birthplace and date. They married a pair of sisters-Shirley and Venus. The latter passed away this past fall when we were on sabbatical in sourthwest China .
My father married Erma Catherine Street (Drummond) on Aug. 31, 1939. I was born in Salt Lake City , Utah a true war-baby as my father was in the South Pacific. My mother welded Liberty ships up through six months when he left. I was 23 months when he returned. My mother died in the 1980's and my father has remarried to Josephine. They live in Albuquerque . I will try to get more specific information.
I am married to Mary Ellen Glenn (Drummond). She was born on June 2, 1946 in Normal , Illinois and we were married on April 5, 1969. We have two kids-Laura Katherine Drummond Lozada, born May 7, 1973 in Stillwater, OK and Eric Glenn Drummond born May 4, 1977 in Edmund, OK (I will check dates with my wife this evening).
I am going to check with both of our kids to get all of the correct facts on that piece of the family and will convey it to you.
Ray died in about 1951 and Velma was killed in an auto accident outside of Van Wert in 1967 or 68. After Ray's death, she moved to Bowling Green and I visited her frequently when I was a graduate student at Purdue. I remember one Thanksgiving gathering in Van Wert getting into a strong argument with some of Velma's relatives because of my anti-war ( Viet Nam ) sentiments. Ray and Velma are burried in Greeley , Colorado .

that shows Matilda and Missouri are children of Horatio Evans. However, the
person also shows that Matilda married in 1848 Levi Bartley in Clark Co., OH.
I viewed the Clark Co. marriage index and it shows that both Levi and
Matilda were "colored". It also lists them as "Mulatto" on the 1850 Clark

"Round Knob - A heavy storm passed through our section on last Friday. Lightning struck and killed Herbert Foor and shocked Henry Rankin while they were gathering raspberries", [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, July 24, 1931, p 7].
OBIT: "Herbert C. Foor, who was struck by lightning was a native of Six Mile Run and was born on Sept. 19, 1891, a son of Frank and Jeanette (Manspeaker) Foor. He was engaged in farming and resided with his parents at Six Mile Run. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Mrs. Ollie (Foster) Foor and one brother, J. Chester Foor, who manages an A & P Store at 806 Twenty-fourth street in Altoona, and six sisters, Mrs. Ed Christopher of Hopewell, Mrs. Ray Weyandt and Mrs. M. Stunkard, both of Six Mile Run; Mrs. Merill Whittlesey of Washington D. C., Mrs. Martha Rankin of Defiance and Mrs. John Brumbaugh of Johnstown. He was a member of the Church of God at Six Mile Run. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, followed by interment at Six Mile Run." [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, Friday, July 24, 1931, p 4.]
Broad Top Man Killed (no date shown)
Herbert C. Foor, residing between Six Mile Run and Dudley, was struck by lightning and instantly killed Friday afternoon, and a nephew Henry Rankin, aged 11, was slightly stunned when they were picking berries. Realizing a hard storm was coming, they started for home and were under a large locust tree when it was ripped by a bolt of lightning, which struck the man on the head, and the boy on the legs.
When the latter recovered consciousness, he attempted to resuscitate his uncle, but finding his efforts of no avail, hurried for help and Dr. Max Kaplan of Riddlesburg responded. As there were no flesh burns on Mr. Foor and only a button torn from his cap, he was hurried to the undertaking establishment of Coroner Robert Huff at Saxton and the Penn Central first aid team worked valiantly, but found life was extinct.
Herbert Foor, aged 40, was a farmer and resided with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foor. His wife, who was Viola Foster, also survives, one brother, Chester of Altoona, and six sisters: Mrs. Nellie Christopher and Mrs. Marshall Stunkard of Six Mile Run, Mrs. Dora Weyant of Hopewell, Mrs. Sarah Whittlesy of Silver Springs, Md., Mrs. Marshall Rankin of Defiance and Mrs. John Brumbaugh of Johnstown. He was a fine young man and his death came as a shock to his many friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Church of God in Six Mile Run, his pastor, Rev. Syler, officiating.
