INDEX

[24384] NAME: In a deed at Beaver Co., PA, dated Sept. 2001, it mentions that Kathleen J. Gargric, "formerly Kathleen J. Foor" and husband David V. Gagric are the grantor's. It mentions later in the document that the premises were the same as that convey to "Kathleen J. Foor, unmarried". Therefore, I don't know if FOOR was actually her maiden name, or a prior married name.

DOB: There's a Kathleen J. Gagric listed as 46 at ussearch.com of Aliquippa, PA in 2004.

NOTE: Perhaps this "FOOR" is somehow related to the David M. FOORE of Beaver Co., PA.

Kathy Foor and David Gagric were married March 11 at Crestmont Alliance Church in Hopewell Township. The Rev. David Muir officiated. The bride was escorted by her son Jeffrey Moor of Hopewell. Connie Bartels of Jacksonville, FL., the bride's sister, was matron of honor. Walter Gagric of Erie, the bridegroom's brother, was best man. A reception was at HOly Ghost Youth Center in Ambridge. The bride is a graduate of Moon Area High Schol and Point Park College. She is a senior billing analyst for Intracorp in Robison TOwnship. Her husband is a raduate of Center Area High School and Community College of Beaver County and is a U.S. Army veteran. He is a field supervisor for Quality & Colors Painting in Ambridge. After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, they are living in Hopewell. [Beaver County Times, May 15, 1995]

[19881] NAME: From Beth (Foor) Hicks via July 2002 email.

DOB: A Timothy R. Foor of Strafford, PA was listed as age 39 in 2004 (ussearch.com). DOB given by Leo F. McInerney via Sept. 2007 email states it was July 21, 1964. In trying to double-check this date of birth, I went to the online Social Security Death Index and there is no Timothy Foor listed. I tried searching for just any Foor who died in July 2005 and only one showed up, and it was John W. Foor in MI. Not sure why he's not listed in the SSDI.

A Timothy R. Foor, Jr., of Strafford, PA, was issued a Certified Public Accountant license in April 1989. Current expiration date is April 2006. Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.

Group Makes Dreams Come True for Ill Adults - Cherry Hill man takes trip to D.C., memorial

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
- Martin Luther King Jr., as quoted on a plaque Heather Foor saw in Washington, D.C.

Tim Foor is an affable, steady fellow of 40 who has made a decent career as an accountant.

He's got a nice house in a nice neighborhood and has drawn a good paycheck from energy firm Exelon in Center City Philadelphia.

He's held football season tickets to his alma mater, Penn State University, since 1989, missing only four home games.

One of those was because he got married last September, after which he and his wife Heather honeymooned in Hawaii.

In short, Foor's made a comfortable living.

It's this thing about dying, however, that's made him determined to defy the odds.

Tim Foor can't walk anymore because several cancerous tumors are lodged on his spinal cord. Cancer is in his head, lungs and sacrum - the pelvic bone made up of five fused vertebrae.

Foor has battled cancer for a decade, first with surgery in the mid-1990s. Then he had a recurrence in 2002.

In April, the disease flared up dramatically. Now, he says, doctors have exhausted their efforts.

He's already outlasted some of their predictions that he had only weeks or months to live. He's home now, under the care of Heather and the Samaritan Hospice, which administers home care to terminal patients.

He greets visitors with a handshake and bright eyes. His demeanor is somewhat introspective but far from gloomy. Last week, he was even fielding some questions from his office, and his laptop's e-mail alert went off at least twice in an hour's time.

"If you get into this with a negative attitude, you'll meet your end quickly," he said. "I've tried so very hard to maintain that positive mental attitude. Whether getting chemotherapy or radiation, sharing (this experience) with others is very important to me."

Carol Paprocki, a representative from Marlton-based Samaritan Hospice, nodded in agreement. "It's about quality of life," she said.

Part of that quality has meant teaming with the Dream Foundation, a national organization akin to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, except it's for adults with terminal illnesses.

Foor's wish was to make another visit to Washington, D.C.

Foor - who throughout his life nurtured a keen interest in history, especially World War II - had not been there in years and had yet to see the World War II Memorial.

The foundation, with the help of Samaritan, made it happen last weekend.

The Foors were picked up at their home, taken to 30th Street Station, and whisked via Amtrak to the nation's capital. The Four Points by Sheraton Hotel put them up gratis.

"We would not have been able to arrange a trip that provided for all of Tim's needs as smoothly as Samaritan and the Dream Foundation did," Heather Foor said. "It was nice for both us to get away from all the medical equipment. We used to do a lot of traveling."

She added that Tim didn't understand why some saw the World War II Memorial as "outsized and ostentatious," given the nature of what veterans of that war achieved. In his letter to the Dream Foundation, he described it as nothing less than to "save the world from a period of indescribable darkness."

Foor felt so strongly about it that he contributed to the fund to get the memorial built.

"I just have a tremendous amount of respect for that generation of Americans," he said last week.

People who worked with Foor at Exelon evidently have a lot of respect for him as well. The company set up a matching scholarship fund in Foor's name at Penn State, and it already has reached about $50,000.

"(Tim and Heather) are really trying to live life right now," said Ron Rooth, Exelon's vice president of finance in Chicago. "He has the highest integrity. He cares about people. We're really hoping to get to that level where we can put that scholarship into perpetuity. We're getting close to that goal."

From Washington, the Foors were taken to Chantilly, Va., where they saw the new National Air and Space Museum and received a personal tour set up through The Dream Foundation.

Such generosity gives Foor pause.

"I kind of doubt that I'm deserving of such kindnesses," he said before the trip. "I tend to think others deserve it more. But I'm glad I contacted them. I do expect to go on for quite some time, but there are no guarantees."

Still, Foor is optimistic.

His birthday is July 21.

"I expect to make it," he said.

NOTE: As I read this article, I checked his date of death and regrettably, Tim did not make it to his birthday of July 21st. He died on July 4th.

After a painful illness of six months duration Mrs. Susan [HINDLE] ALSPACH, wife of Edward ALSPACH, died yesterday morning, at the family residence, two miles southeast of town, aged 54 years.
Edward Alspach and Susan HINDLE, of Inwood, were married in 1869 and have ever since resided near Rochester. And the union was a most happy and congenial one. No farm home in the vicinity of Rochester was ever more popular and inviting than that of Ed. Alspach's and its hospitality was praised by all who were fortunate enough to come within its precincts.
Two children, both grown to man and womanhood, and the husband survive but the death of that wife and mother creates a void in the home and the community which can never be filled. The funeral will be held at the residence, at 2 o'clock, tomorrow afternoon and burial will be made in Odd Fellows cemetery.
