Street. There seems reason to believe that Richard was a citizen of London,
engaged like most citizens of his time, in some trade, he was a golsmith
indicated wealth. He was, as appears in history, a prominent man in social as
well as in business matters. That he was wealthy appears from the fact that
his sons received a liberal education, provision being then made by the

Clyde C. Lett obituary, The Chronicle, Sherwood Ohio of July 12, 1929:
World War Veteran Dies,
Clyde Lett, 32, World War Veteran died at his home here late Monday afternoon following an illness of four years, his illness resulting from being gassed while in service in France. He was bedfast about four weeks. His wife and three sons, also his mother and two sisters survive him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church, the pastor Rev. O.D. Stewart officiating. Mrs. Lyrl Lehman and Mrs. Pauline Noffsinger, sang, with Mrs. Gertrude Miller at he piano. The American Legion boys from Hicksville were pallbearers, and the flower girls were, Dorothy, Bernice and Nellie Bayliss and Evelyn Lehman. Burial in Sherwood cemetery.
Sympathy is extended the bereaved family.

Obituary
Clyde C. Lett
Clyde C. Lett was born in Milford township, October 28, 1896, and died in Sherwood, July 8, 1929 at the age of 32 years, 8 months, 10 days. His death followed four years of illness caused by wounds from the World War.
Mr. Lett saw active service in France during his enlistment from April 25, 1919, to May 14, 1919. On November 16, 1920 he again enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged November 20, 1923.
Mr. Lett was married to Miss Lavona Sprow of Sherwood, May 24, 1924. They moved here from Hickville last March. He is survived by the widow and three sons, Clyde Jr., Eugene and Kenneth. His mother, Mrs. May Dunkle of Ney, and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Erlston, Toledo, and Mrs. Etta Nichols, Bryan, also remain.
Mr. Lett was a member of the Disciple church at Edgerton.
