Documentation: "Henry County Ohio", VI pp 308-310. This history states he died in 1897, yet wife is listed as a widow in 1880 census.
On a Monroe Twp. map, ca 1875, Henry Dauber "seujar" owned over 90 acres in
sections 2 and 3. Also owning acres is a P. DAUBER who I believe to be Peter
Dauber. Peter Dauber is ca 60y in the 1880 census living with wife July 60y
and dau Eliza 21y. Peter lives very near other Dauber's, so am assuming there is some kind of relationship . . . possibly Henry (b 1823) Dauber's brother.
Henry Dauber was admitted on Sept. 1st, 1897, at age 67 to the Adams County Home, Adams Co., IN, which in 2003 was called Golden Meadows Nursing home and is 2 and a half miles southeast of Decatur, IN. He was discharged Oct. 26, 1897. His nationality was German, his birth place listed was Germany, and occupation was a farmer. He died Oct. 26, 1897, and is buried in Zion Cemetery. Caus of death listed as Dropsy.
DOD: His date of death is listed as Oct. 25, 1897, at 73y 2m 2d in "First Records of Salem Magley, St. Lukes Honduras, Zion Friedheim and First Methodist Churches, Decatur, Indiana, 1970.
