left with 7 children all under 12 years of age, at her husbands death. She
married a second time, Edward Johnson, her cousin, a few years later. She was widowed a second time and lived to an advanced age. She was a remarkably

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. today in the Lisbon church for Mrs. Malinda Ann Hindsley, 90, native and livelong resident of Jackson township, Randolph county. Mrs. Hindsley died at her late residence, Union City R. F. D. 1, five miles northwest of Union City, at 2:30 a. m. Saturday following a week's serious illness.
She was born Malinda Noffsinger, daughter of Absalom and Elizabeth Johnson Noffsinger, in the community where she spent all of her life. Holly school in Jackson township and was a devout member of the Lisbon church. She observed her ninetieth birthday anniversary on November 17, 1939. On Sunday, two days later, the occasion was honored with a huge family dinner at her home. She was united in marriage to Rufus G. Hindsley, who died on February 29, 1936. Seven children were born to this union.
Survivors include six children; Alva C. Hindsley,of Indianapolis; Orvah L. Hindsley, Union City postmaster; Mrs. Dessie Sharp, of Modoc; Mrs. Esta DeBolt, residing northwest of Union City; Mrs. Samuel Brooks, at home, and Mrs. Charles Simmons, Union City; one half-sister, Mrs. William King, residing three miles northwest of Union City; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. One daughter, Lottie, died November 17, 1892 at the age of two years.
Rev. R. S. Grubb, of Converse, will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be made in the Lisbon cemetery. The remains were returned Saturday evening from the Brooks Funeral home in Union City to the residence northwest of Union City.

There is an ARVEL & EASTER SWICK stone beside "Hattie SWICK w/o James SWICK"
stone. There are no dates on it. Perhaps it's this Orvel, and a sister? Or
it's who he was named after?
