Can find no documentation on Joseph. Believe he died before 1880 since his
wife Catherine is living with Jesse Gray in Jackson Twp of Paulding Co. OH.
Most information gained shows that his name is Joseph. Do not even know if he immigrated with wife and family. Youngest known son was born in OH. Possibly Joseph died enroute to US or to OH. Am searching for passenger lists for this family.
Probably the most accurate record is that of a paper written up "for purpose of immigration" for his son Daniel Anton Hallard. The paper is written in 'old' German, and the copy I have (not the original) is barely decipherable.
Apparently the place they resided in, at least at one time, was Auherzen, in
Bohemia, Czechoslovakia. The town is now called Uherce/Uherec and is located
49 degrees north and 13 degrees East, near Stribo.
According to a 1909 Czech Encyclopedia, Uherce (Auherzen) is a parish city in
Cechy, district of Stody, near Stribro and Nyrany. There are 54 homes and a
population of 422 (1909). The Parish of St. Joseph (where son Daniel was
baptised) was established in 1740. The present church (1909) was built in
1787.
I have located other people who have HALLA ancestors in Czechoslovakia. There is no doubt that the HALLARD surname was once HALLA. The HALLARD surname is also common in England.
Czech records are costly and lengthy to obtain. Also, with boundary changes
and disputes, the original records may no longer exist. The portion of Czech
that the HALLARD/HALLA's were from was once part of Austria, which is why we
often see the HALLARD's list Austria as place of birth.

From HISTORY OF THE NAFZGER FAMILY IN AMERICA, 1939, Glea Richer, "The military
records of PA give the name of John Noffsinger, above, as a soldier in the
Revolutionary War. He was a member of the Washington Co malitia from
1777-1784. He was granted a survey of land, evidently for military service,
along Plum Run near Ten Mile Creek, in East Bethlehem twp, Washington Co and
after additing to it by purchase, made it their home. This grant of land was
called "Jan". As his children grew to maturity, they established homes near
their father, and in some cases, they purchased tracts of land from their
father, according to land records on file at Washington, PA. A part of this
original land grant was retained by the eldest son untio 1929, when the last of
the family left the state. Record of some of the members of this family have
been lost. ONe son became very friendly with the Miami Indiants after the
family moved to OH. He became an interpreter, and when the Miamis were moved
westward he accompanied the tribe. Two sons, whose names are lost, went by way
of the Ohio, farther west. Their descendants appear in Missouri and western
states in the next generations. About 1800 John and his wife, with their
married children, left PA and moved to the OH country. They settled near
Dayton, Montgomery Co OH. He leived here, surrounded by his descendants, until
his death about 1825. His signature appears on a land transfer made in 1824 to
one of his sons, as "Johannes Noffziner",' written in an unsteady heand. He
lies buried in the Noffsinger cemetery near the church which his sons helped to
found. His grave is marked by a boulder from the creek bed, near by the plot.
(p 13). "Wife Catharine ___________, married in PA. Resided in Washington
County after 1777, until 1801. His children, all born in PA, were . . . " (p
13).
"Rudolph's oldest son John resided for a period in Washington County, PA prior
to moving to Montgomery Co OH." from NAFZFGER HERITAGE NEWS, V XVIIII, #3, Fall
Issue 1990 p 8.
"In 1826 John and Catharine Noffsinger sold George and Esther (Noffsinger) Knee
a piece of land having in Darke Co OH containing 160 acres in Darke Co for $10
and "Parental affection". Neither John nor Catharine could write. The sale
was witnessed by Henry Hipple and Samuel Noffsinger and recorded in 1833. . .
John and Catharine Noffsinger bought land from Issac Malin on Ten Mile Creek in
Bethlehem Twp, Washington co PA in 1788. In 1801 they sold their farm. The
deed was signed Johannes Nofziger and wife Catherine (her X mark) and
witnessed by John (X) Noffsinger Junior and I. Jenkenson. John Noffsinger
bought land in Montgomery Co OH in 1802. We found records when Johna nd
Catharine sold land to John Jr., Sa,ie;. Samuel and Susan (Noffsinger) Cripe
and Eli Noffsinger in Montgomery Co. In all the records John signed his name
while Catharine made her mark (X). From THE NAFZGER HERITAGE NEWS, V XVIII,
