Barbara "Ann" Hallard, 73, of Defiance, died at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007.
She was born in Grand Rapids, Ohio, on May 8, 1934, the daughter of Harry H. and Margaret (Strayer) Noffsinger. On July 25, 1954, she married Roger G. Hallard, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1997.
Survivors include daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Ashton of Amherst, Ohio, and Shelly (David) Hallard-Beckham of Pickerington, Ohio; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry (Nancy) Noffsinger, Defiance.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.
Mrs. Hallard was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Defiance, and was retired from the Defiance Middle School System after 25 years of service as a secretary. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, an auxiliary member of Defiance VFW Post 3360, and an auxiliary member of the Grand Rapids American Legion Post. One of her true loves of life was playing and performing on piano and organ.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Mast-Mock-Hoffman-Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with the Rev. Joe Chrisman officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and then are welcome to join the family at the Defiance VFW Post 3360 for a luncheon from 4-6 p.m. and return to the funeral home from 6 p.m. until the time of services at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
