"Jonathan & Maria FUHR" are sponsors for the baptism of "Heinrich ALSPACH" bap 28 Apr 1833, b 08 Feb 1833, s/o Heinrich & Eva ALSPACH, "Churchbooks of the Betzer Union/Zion Reformed Church 1817-1881, Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co OH", Fairfield Co Gen Society, 1994 p 23
*** It appears Johannes FUHR was first married to a Maria _____ who
bore him at least 9 known children who's baptismal records appear in the
Salem/Glick Lutheran church records. Then I assume Maria died sometime on or
after the baptism of Marilyn on 22 Apr 1837, as Johannes is then listed with
a Sarah who is 17 years younger than him, and 3 years older then his oldest
son Joseph.
Although his 2nd wife Sarah is much younger than him, and might be erroneously assumed to be his child, baptismal records show a "Johannes and Sara" had children, and census extractions show the two residing together in what appears to be a husband/wife relationship.

Most info from NAFZGER FAMILY IN AMERICA, 1939, Glea Richer
"John Jr. was married soon after he came to OH from PA. His wife was a native of MD. The ceremony was performed by Elder Jacob Miller, who is mentioned as the founder of the Church of the Brethren at Dayton. When John Jr. died, he left his wife with a heavy burden, ten children under the age of fifteen.
About 1835, the family moved from OH to Randolph Co., IN. There were relatives near them in their new home, and the children grew up there. Some of Elizabeth Noffsinger's brothers also moved to Randolph co., IN. The Simmonses and the Noffsingers have lived there, side by side, for over a century, and many marriages between the descendants of those pioneers make tangled relationships in the community. Elizabeth Noffsinger lived almost have a century after the death of her husband, and she lies buried in the old Mt. Holly Cemetery near Union City Indiana." p 27
Richer states all of John's children were born in Montgomery or Miami Co's OH, yet in Samuel's separate bio it states he was born in Randolph Co IN.
11/91 Family Group Sheet of Evelyn Mills, Tuscson, AZ shows that John died in
Montgomery Co OH.
