CENSUS: 1880 census Crane Twp/Paulding Co. OH (p 21, v 151/157)
he is listed as a servant, attending school, age 15, living with the family of Judson and Margaret Onstolt and their son James age 2.

CENSUS 1910 census states mother had 12 ch, 10 living. Quite possibly the
two that died were Joseph V. and Iloe M. who are buried beside each other in
Paulding county as son or dau of "E.L. and M.A." BUT, Iloe M. is not listed as a daughter anywhere in the info Deb sent me. Iloe's gravestone states "d 15 Oct 1897 @ 7y 3m 8d which figures to b 07 Jul 18890. There is no 1890 census
and she d before the 1900 census. If Iloe is indeed a child, that would make
the amount of children in this family to be 13, rather than 12 as mother states on 1900 and 1910 census's. (Note how Iloe M. and Emma S.'s birthdates are very close . . . could they possibly be the same child? Did the person who read the tombstone for "Paulding County Cemetery Listings" read it in error? It might be a weathered stone and hard to read . . . just another point to ponder.

Quite possibly the names of the children listed for this family are in error.
Also the births/deaths/marriage dates may be in error. Often the dates on
gravestones and census's do not agree. Also often the BIRTH date on a person's DEATH certificate is in error. To verify all of the family listed here, someone needs to write to the Probate court to get documentation of each child's birth and/or death. That way, you at least know that the children are correct. (I'm also positive that you'll find some of these birthdates are in error. Often the information kept in the family is wrong).

WARNING: Very little documentation on this family! Should get concrete
documentation at least on your direct ancestors before proceeding any further
or you may find yourself barking up the wrong "tree".

NOTE: It is also known that many people during this time in Paulding Co had
their children at home. Often they'd forget to register their child with the
doctor (who in turn submitted his monthly list to the courts). I was also told that the doctor wouldn't keep his records current and then when he decided to jot down the recent births he'd mark them in error. So, even probate courts can be deceiving, but those records hold the most worth and are needed for documentation.
