Cordelia Thompson Carpenter was born in Ossian, Livingston Co., N.Y. Aug. 28, 1829, died March 7, 1891, aged 61 yr., 6 mo. and 9 days. The deceased was married to J.C. Carpenter Feb. 10, 1848, in Lenawee Co., Mich where they lived until 1860, from whence they moved to Royalton Twp., Fulton Co., where she lived at the date of her death. Their union was blessed with six children. Hannah, Mahlon, Miriam, Mina, Harmon and William, all of whom survive the loss of a kind mother, except Mahlon, who died at the age of 7 years.
Mrs Carpenter united with the Universalist church in 1868 and has always been a faithful worked in the church, never tiring until her health forbid, and departed this life with the firm belief of the final restoration of all mankind.
Thus has passed away a dear wife, a loving mother and a kind sister. The funeral services were held at the Universalist church, March 10 at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. N. Crary of Hillsville, Ohio, and her remains were laid at rest in the Lyons Cemetery.
