(Foster) Carpenter came from NY, grew up in MI, and when they were married they settled in Ohio. Mordecai and Caroline first moved to Willow Prairie, In
Indiana, but there were too many Indians there that they soon returned to MI
and later they crossed the Michigan-Ohio border into Fulton county. Here they bought land and from this home he was called as a soldier into the Mohawk wars.

Maryland is Mrs. Mathias Bonenberger, "saloon", resides same, Mathias Bonenberger, "saloon", also Tillie Bonenberger, and Theresa Bonenberger, all in 1890.
MAIDEN NAME: Note: There is information submitted to the LDS by unknown submitter post 1991. "No further information available". The submitter shows that Jacob Bonenberger was born abt 1852 in Alsace, Lorraine, Preussen and was married abt 1876 in KY (Henderson). Submitter further states that Mary Otilda was b 1857 in Henderson, KY, and census information shows she was born in Indiana. No children are listed for the couple; only the parents of Mary which are shown as John and Eva Catherine (Bonenberger) Freppon.
"Johane (John) Freppon, born in Germany in 1816, and his wife, Eva Shear Freppon, also born in Germany, lived in Cincinnati (Hamilton County) Ohio from at least 1845 to 1862. Would like to know if they are listed in city directories, and any other info possible. Their children were Theresia, Margaretta (married Jacob Bonenberger), Maria Catharina (Kate)(married Henry Bankin), Peter, Maria Ottillia, Eva Catharina, George, Elizabeth (married Richard Henderson Elam)." The eldest son was a soldier in the Union army and died in Gettysburg. All the brothers, except Frank, fell victim to the white plague in early manhood. The mother of this family of sons was the second Caylor to marry into the Noffsinger family. Several others are recorded." (p 30)
