OBIT: Nicholas Haala - Bucyrus - Nicholas Haala, 87, of Bucyrus died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday in his home. He was ill three months. Born August 1, 1864, in Bohemia, he was a son of Anton and Veronica Dolpoth Haala. May 4, 1909, he married Anna Beran. A resident of Bucyrus since 1882, he came here from Bohemia. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and of the Eagles Lodge. In 1938, he retired from work as a blacksmith for the Shunk Mfg. Co. Surviving are his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Howard Knachel of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. The Rev. Leo Reinartz will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call at the Munz Funeral Home tonight. [The Marion Star, Marion, Ohio, May 5, 1952]
