A passenger was hurt in a car-pickup accident at 9:44 a.m. Friday on S. Shannon St. near the S-curve. Mary E. Foor, 62, of Fostoria, was not treated at the scene. She was riding in a car driven by Robert S. Foor, 69, of Fostoria. City Police reported Michael A. Oehlers, 21, of Toledo was northbound on Shannon St. driving a leased pickup when he applied the brakes for the curve in the street his vehicle slid accross the centerline on the wet pavement, hitting the Fostoria car. Foor was southbound and observed the sliding pickup and had stopped his car at the time of impact. There was moderate damage to the front of both vehicles. Oehlers was cited by police for speed in excess of road and weather conditions. [Times Bulletin, Van Wert, Ohio, Nov. 27, 1976]
