that this tombstone was originally in row 3 "after Isaac Richardson". Cemetery
is old and many tombstones laid in the back of the cemetery near the fence. A
listing was made in the 1940s, and since then, some group had tried to re-erect
the stones and many did not end up in their original place. She was buried
near sister Elmira.

George M. NORRIS, 66, of Box 127, Huntingdon, R.D. 3, died at 5:30 a.m.
Friday, April 7, 2000, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born
May 29, 1933, in Penn Township, he was a son of the late Carl W. and Amy
Ruth (Norris) Norris. He married Mary E. Hearn, April 30, 1955, at the,
Hawn's Bridge Chapel by the Rev. Neil Rodgers. Mrs. Norris survives at
home. Also surviving are three children: Georgana Marie Norris, Hesston,
R.D. 1; Ira Hank Norris, Huntingdon, R.D. 3; and Carol Ann Norris,
Hesston, R.D. 1; two granddaughters and one great-grandson. One brother,
Harold Norris, Huntingdon, R.D. 3 and two sisters, Elizabeth McKinney,
Huntingdon, R.D.1 and Martha Foore, Hopewell, R.D. 2, also survive. One
brother, Lester Norris and two sisters, Beulah Grubb and Ruth Norris,
preceded him in death. Mr. Norris was of the Protestant faith. He was a
member of the Independent Bass Master's Club. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army where he earned the rank of corporal. He served in the Korean
Conflict as a cannoneer with Battery "C" of the 52nd Field Artillery
Battalion. During his lifetime he had been employed by New Holland in
Belleville for 34 years. He retired from New Holland in 1991 as a welder
and quality control inspector. He was an avid fisherman and especially
enjoyed Raystown Lake. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Monday
April 10, at the Robrt E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon. Interment
will be in the Anderson Cemetery, Hesston R.D. 1. Friends may call at
the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of
the service Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
contributions be made to the Hartslog Valley Chapel, R.D. 1 Box 248,
Huntingdon, Pa.

"Friday, a crash claimed the life of 4-year-old Ashlyn Porada of Pittsburgh.
According to the Highway Patrol, Ross Anderson, 18, of Tequesta was driving a 1997 Ford on U.S. 1 on Grassy Key when he struck the rear of a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Linda Stasko, 56, of Pittsburgh, who was slowing to make a left turn. Also in the car were David Nicotra, 55, and Ashlyn Paroda, 4. Stasko, Nicotra and Porada were taken to Fisherman's Hospital, where Porada later died. All occupants of the three vehicles involved were wearing seatbelts.

PRINGLE, Gerald J. of Merrill, Michigan. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Toni and Trish Hospice House, with his loving family by his side, at the age of 88. Gerald was born May 3, 1922, in Saginaw, one of seven children of the late John and Frona (Foor) Pringle. He met Marilyn Swarthout at a local dance and they were married March 31, 1944, in Gainsville, TX. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army in the 410th Infantry, 103rd Division. He was a WWII combat veteran serving in the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945. He received an honorable discharge in 1945. He was employed by Dow Chemical for over 40 years retiring in 1980. He belonged to the American Legion 0225 in Lansing, MI. He enjoyed woodworking, landscaping, carving, and playing the guitar. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; his children, Rodney (Mary) Pringle, Claudia (Ron Meyer) Kleppert, and Jacquelyn (Dave Lewis) LaCosse; six grandchildren, Jill Kleppert, Nathan Kleppert, Adam Pringle, Melody (Troy) Oswald, Courtney LaCosse, and Tiffany Pringle; five great-grandchildren, Coleton Pringle, Alivia, Ava, and Alexa Oswald, and Trinity Kleppert; brother Duane Pringle; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Larry Kleppert; and siblings, Durrell Pringle, Onieta Spangler, Merlin Pringle, Lois Valliere, Donna Drown. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for all the wonderful and tender care they provided to Gerald. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2010, at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate with burial to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge under the auspices of VFW Post #1859 in Carrollton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Randy Wilfred Showalter, 55, Washington, W.Va., passed away Monday at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, W.Va. He was born in Altoona, son of Wilfred Luther and Sara Mae (Foor) Showalter.

He served in the U.S. Army and worked at E.I. Dupont for 36 years as a mechanical designer.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Martha "Marsie" Showalter; two sons: Michael Randy Showalter and wife, Stephanie Dawn of Parkersburg and Matthew David Showalter of Morgantown, W.Va.; a brother, Rick A. Showalter of Columbus, Ohio; a granddaughter, Madison Brooke Showalter; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, 403 Seventh St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Dave Walters officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Saturday.
