Robert Lee BOWERS

[20325]

11 Jan 1923 - 26 Mar 1930

Father: Harvey H. BOWERS
Mother: Ida B. HEDRICK

 _Harvey H. BOWERS _+
|
|--Robert Lee BOWERS
|
|_Ida B. HEDRICK ___+

INDEX

[20325] CENSUS: 1930 Lithopolis, Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH; sheet 3B
BOWERS, Harve, head, owns home worth $620, doesn't reside on a farm, 49y b
OH, parents b OH, married first at age 20, laborer, odd jobs
", Ida, wife 49y b OH, parents b OH, married at 19y
", Robert L., son 7y b OH

Althought it lists Robert L. as a son, Harvey and Ida's last child was born nearly 20 years previous. Perhaps he was actually a grandson, and/or an illegitimate son of one of Harvey's children.

NOTE: According to cemetery book, Robert L. Bowers is buried in 2nd addition, part 3, lot 219 S 1/2, grave 3. Father Harvey is buried in grave 4, mother is in 2nd addition, part 3, but in lot 252 grave 3. What I don't understand is, the Robert L. Bowers buried so near Harvey is apparently the same one listed with them in the 1930 census, but the census of 1930 is for any individual residing at that residence as of APRIL 1st. The census taker took this census around April 26th. The Ohio Death Index at the Ohio Historical Society shows a Robert L. Bowers died in Fairfield Co., Ohio, on March 26, 1930. This death date is the same that appears in the cemetery book. So... how and why does Robert L. Bowers appear on the 1930 census with them when he died a few days short of the cut-off of April 1st, and had been dead almost exactly a month when the census taker took the info.

DOD/POD: Name listed as Robert L. Bowers, V #6245 Cert. #15317, "Ohio Death Certificate Index, 1913-1944", Ohio Historical Society, online ohiohistory.org.

DOD/POBurial/DOB: Name listed as Robert L. Bowers, aged 7y. "Cemeteries of Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH", Fairfield County Gen. Soc., Chapter OGS, 1996, p 169.

Death certificate 15317 image. Robert Lee Bowers, Lithopolis, Fairfield Co., Ohio, March 26, 1930 aged 7y 2m 15d, cerebral meningitis, born Jan. 11, 1923 Lithopolis, Ohio to Harvey Bowers b Lithopolis, Ohio and Ida Hedrick b Bloom Twp., Ohio. Informant was Harvey Bowers. Buried March 29 in Lithopolis, Ohio.

[22651] DOB/DOD: SSDI

See article posted in notes of father, Rev. Alan Foor. In the notes it mentions a son who died in October 1984 in his early 20s. This is the only individual in the SSDI who meets that description.

NOTE: On a cemetery search engine, one of the results said this:

"ZION UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY (new)
..., joyce 1., 1930- foor, david a., 1961-1984; m june 27, 1981. rescue...
... rescue hose co. foor, wendy s., w/o david, [& scott a. dietz]...

When clicking on the 'result', it gave me an error page. I was able to tell it came from the PA GENWEB website of Snyder county. On the page for the 'new' Zion United Methodist cemetery, no FOOR's are listed. When doing a search on the entire site, no FOOR is listed, either. I used google.com to search for exact phrases and none matching this comes up. There is no 'author' or webmaster listed on the Snyder PA GenWeb website, so I can not write them to see what former page they had listed that contained this data.

Was this David Foor married to a Wendy, who then married Scott A. Dietz?
