NOTE: A 2004 gedcom submitted to ancestry.com by Arlene Fermanis shows that this James Monroe Alspach died 24 Jul 1863 in Vicksburg. There is no further info on what Civil War regiment he may have been in. Her 'source' listed is a 2000 website that no longer exists. In search for a James Alspach or Alspaugh, etc., only one seems a possibility and that is James "Aulsbaugh" who enlisted October 8, 1862 at the age of 21 into Company D of the 57th Infantry Regiment Ohio. He died of disease on June 24, 1863 at a hospital in Bolton, MS. The month is different in this data and that of the 2004 gedcom. [ancestry.com: Historical Data Systems, comp..
