DEATH: from copies (p 146) of book written or compiled by Rev. Jack Swick;

"Peter Swick could not escape service in the Rev. War. NJ was the battleground
for bloody conflicts such as the Battles of Trenton and Monmouth. As a
consequence, many early records...were destroyed... However, there are a few
extant records pointing to service rendered by Peter SWICK in the Rev. War.
The application of a newphew, John Swick (s/o Martin) for a Rev. War Pension
dated 1837-1838, state he, John, was from Greenwish Twp., Essex Co NJ and that
he served as a private from 1778 for 3y at the same tim as his 'Uncle Peter
Swick' who was a Lt. in the Army under Capt John Maxwell".
"On 07 Mar 1796, Peter Swick purchased 177 acres of land in Fishing Creek TWP.,
Northumberland CO, PA (the plot called Hopewell) from Herman Kline. On 15 Jul
1799, he purchased 282 acres in Shamokin Twp (the plot known as Pamona) from
George Miller."
The above quoted material appear to be from typed abstracts from a book
compiled or written by Rev. Jack Swick. No reference is on the copies I rec'd.
