MARRIED: V 1, P 18 (first marriage) the copy I have I can't read very well.
My copy doesn't say the page number, nor the year of the marriage. The
marriages above their entry are for the year 1835 then 1836.
MARRIED: 2nd marriage, (Sarah) have copy, does not show volume or page #.
WILL: I William FOOR of the county of Fairfield in the state of Ohio of
the age of seventy five years and being of sound and disposing mind and
memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner
following I direct my executor hereinafter named to pay out of my estate as
soon as possible after my decease all of my just debts.
I will and bequeath to my wife Sarah E. FOOR the tract of land on which we now reside viz eighteen acres of land in Bloom township [next word unreadable] what is known as the Egypt School house to have and to hold during her natural life and at her decease the same to be sold and equally divided between her three children viz Frank Foor, Rosetta Foor, and James Foor.
The forty acres of land bought at the administrators known as the Hudshy Farm I leave in the hands of my executor to be handled and the proceeds to be
applied to the use of my wife and children until my youngest son James Foor
becomes of age and then the same to be sold by my executor and the proceeds
distributed as follows - to my daughter Mrs. Elisabeth Gayman I will and bequeath fity Dollars ($50.00) and to Mrs. Sarah Jane [Bogest or Bozest] my
daughter fity-dollars, to Margaret Brown my daughter fifty dollars, to Mrs.
Catherine Lecrone (or Lecrose) fity-dollars, and to my Daughter Calista now in Illinoise [sic] (married last name not remembered) her her that was Colista Foor I give and bequeath fity dollars, the ballance [sic] of my children by my first wife has had all I desire them to have. The Ballance of the proceeds of the forty acres above named to be distributed equally between my three youngest children, viz Frank Foor, Rosetta Foor and James Foor. WILL: copy of will dated
As to the household and kitchen furniture I desire that they should remain in
the hands of my wife for her use and benefit but all the rest of my chattle
property shall be appraised and sold at public sale by my executor who shall
take charge of the renting of the land and the business generally, applying
proceeds of sale and credits to the use of the family as they may need the same.
My executor shall take charge of all my business immediately after my decease and collect debts and discharge the same as fast as money can be collected to do the same to this end I appoint T. H. Dill the executor of this my last will and testament made this 19th day of January AD 1895 and signed as my last will and testament on the day above mentioned in the presence of Miss Mary Lidrick? and Henry Fishpaw. (William Foor signed the will with an X.
He had several sons by his first marriage. Some researchers speculate that he didn't associate much with his children by his first marriage because of the way he worded his will. Wonder why his sons by his 1st marriage rec'd nothing, unless he settled with them earlier with parcels of land, perhaps?
Another odd thing about this particular family is that almost all of William's siblings had their children baptised in one of the several nearby German Reformed churches, yet William and Mary did not. (Having so many children, it would seem likely that if they had been baptised, at least ONE would've showed up in the many baptismal records). According to Goslin, Mary and William even granted the church land, apparently right across the road from where they resided. So again, why aren't their children's records in that church, yet many of their nieces and nephews? Bewildering.

"At the junction with the Salem Church Road, we turned westward toward
Lithopolis [Fairfield Co OH]. ... On approaching the Sitterly (road-sign
spelling) Road there is a small brick building along the south side of the
Salem Church Road. This was once the Egypt School, the land for which John W. and Rebecca MOREHART granted in 1854 to the Bloom Township School Board's ten members. ... "Across the road from this former school, now converted into a residence, once stood a church of the Evangelical Association. The 17 1/2 perches of land on which this church was erected were granted to the trustees of this church for $5 by William and Mary FOOR. A stipulation in this grant was, whenever this land was no longer used for church purposes, it reverted back to the farm. This stipulation was quite common in the grants of land for school purposes."
