NOTE: This family seemed to completely disappear. I have checked various spellings for George and Margaret knowing they would still be young children by 1860 in the census. I've searched for just Rachel, and also Lorenzo since his name is unique. Nothing. There's a Lorenzo in 1860, 70, and 80 but it's one who was in 1850 in Bartholowmew Co., IN. I have double-checked the 1850 census to see if the surname was, indeed, "Boyer" and it appears to be. I've tried searching for just ANY Lorenzo born about the same year as him and nothing appears to match. I've tried searching for any Rachel born about the same year but still in Fairfield County to see if she perhaps had remarried and her children from this marriage were listed erroneously with the surname of a present marriage. Nothing.

The Mormon familysearch.org site has a user-submitted tiny pedigree which shows William Boyer b abt 1801 "of Franklin Co., OH' who married Mary Gray born about 1805 "of Franklin Co., Ohio" about 1830 in Franklin Co., Ohio. The only child listed for this entire marriage was Harriet Boyer b 13 Nov 1834 in Franklin Co., Ohio died 09 Jan 1910. Doesn't show if she was married or not. User-submitted data does not show an author.

INDEX

[24384] NAME: In a deed at Beaver Co., PA, dated Sept. 2001, it mentions that Kathleen J. Gargric, "formerly Kathleen J. Foor" and husband David V. Gagric are the grantor's. It mentions later in the document that the premises were the same as that convey to "Kathleen J. Foor, unmarried". Therefore, I don't know if FOOR was actually her maiden name, or a prior married name.

DOB: There's a Kathleen J. Gagric listed as 46 at ussearch.com of Aliquippa, PA in 2004.

NOTE: Perhaps this "FOOR" is somehow related to the David M. FOORE of Beaver Co., PA.

Kathy Foor and David Gagric were married March 11 at Crestmont Alliance Church in Hopewell Township. The Rev. David Muir officiated. The bride was escorted by her son Jeffrey Moor of Hopewell. Connie Bartels of Jacksonville, FL., the bride's sister, was matron of honor. Walter Gagric of Erie, the bridegroom's brother, was best man. A reception was at HOly Ghost Youth Center in Ambridge. The bride is a graduate of Moon Area High Schol and Point Park College. She is a senior billing analyst for Intracorp in Robison TOwnship. Her husband is a raduate of Center Area High School and Community College of Beaver County and is a U.S. Army veteran. He is a field supervisor for Quality & Colors Painting in Ambridge. After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, they are living in Hopewell. [Beaver County Times, May 15, 1995]

[20711] Friday, August 6, 1897

After a painful illness of six months duration Mrs. Susan [HINDLE] ALSPACH, wife of Edward ALSPACH, died yesterday morning, at the family residence, two miles southeast of town, aged 54 years.
Edward Alspach and Susan HINDLE, of Inwood, were married in 1869 and have ever since resided near Rochester. And the union was a most happy and congenial one. No farm home in the vicinity of Rochester was ever more popular and inviting than that of Ed. Alspach's and its hospitality was praised by all who were fortunate enough to come within its precincts.
Two children, both grown to man and womanhood, and the husband survive but the death of that wife and mother creates a void in the home and the community which can never be filled. The funeral will be held at the residence, at 2 o'clock, tomorrow afternoon and burial will be made in Odd Fellows cemetery. Former Local Girl A Suicide
Mrs. Grant NYE, who returned from Marion, Monday, reports the death of her niece, Miss Bessie NYE, who committed suicide last Wednesday by drinking carbolic acid.
For several months she had been afflicted with a cancer of the stomach and was in a general depressed condition. Wednesday morning she left her home and went to a drug store, where she ordered some ice cream and bought the acid. When she went out she said she left a note on the table, reading as follows: "Dear papa and mama, I can't stand the pain any longer, good bye. I thank the doctor for what he has done for me, Bessie."
The girl is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Schuyler C. NYE, and was born August 11, 1898, south of Rochester a few miles. For several years she has been living in Marion. She is survived by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Esley NYE, of near Rochester, is an uncle. The funeral was held Saturday at 10 o'clock, Rev. C. M. SHAWLEY in charge. Burial was made in the Gas City I.O.O.F. cemetery. [Fulton County, Indiana, Obits/Biogs, The Rochester Sentinel, 1913" (June 3, 1913 article), Wendell Tombaugh, 1994]

"I have a small booklet that I found at the library in Hagerstown, Maryland. It is "Nye Family" by Willis R. Nye. It is type-written and has a stamp inside "Genealogical Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" June 1965. The copy at the library was a copy of a copy of a copy and one can hardly read some of the pages. The last page, pg 29, has information on Schuyler Colfax Nye. It does not mention 1st wife, Emma, but does have her child: "Ina, now Mrs Lawrence Mattix, Scottsville, Michigan"; then lists 8 more children which I assume were born of 2nd wife Cora, as it starts with Bessie (Lieugardie) b 9/29/1897 deceased. It has the date of 6 August 1942 for Schuyler's death.
I found Lawrence and Ina Mattix in the Mason County Michigan 1910, 1920 and 1930 census. They have a daughter, Carol. The wedding photo that started me on this quest is of Lawrence and Ina (Nye) Mattix." Info sent via email in October 2007.
