Military Funeral for Harold Benson Held Sunday P.M. at Betzer Reformed Church. Between fifteen hundred and two thousand people paid tribute to the memory of Harold Benson of Lockville whose funeral occurred yesterday afternoon at the Betzer Reformed Lutheran Church in Bloom township at 2 o'clock. The remains of the young man who died of pnemonia at a hospital of the American Expeditionary forces in Le Mans, France, Dec. 19, 1918, only arrived home Friday night. Rev. George W. Loos of Columbus conducted the services. Several touching selections were rendered by a mixed quartet. Military honors were conferred under the auspices of Bloom Township Post American Legion of which Sergeant Carl Zangmaster is commander, assisted by posts from Carroll and Canal Winchester. Karl Eyman Post, Lancaster, was represented by Major Van A. Snider, Capt. Otto Kindler, Capt. James Gallagher, A. Derbyshire and Harry Kauffman. Interment took place in the cemetery adjacent to the church. [Lancaster Daily Eagle, Lancaster, Ohio, Aug. 23, 1920]

Frank D. Colgan, 74, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Wapakoneta Manor.

He was born in Spencerville on June 18, 1930, to Meril and Mable (Hickernell) Colgan.

On Feb. 19, 1956, he married Cleona Foor in Angola, Ind., who survives in Waynesfield.

Other survivors include a sister, Claire Prowant of Benton Ridge, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, Jim, David, Carl, Carole and Bob; and two sisters, Mary and Beata.

Mr. Colgan was a 1948 graduate of Spencerville High School, a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church, had worked as a union carpenter retiring after 35 years of service with Carpenter Union 372.

A United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a Life Member of Spencerville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, a member of the Independent Order of ODD Fellows 311 of Spencerville and a member of Wayne Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons 0569, Waynesfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Armentrout Funeral Home, 200 E. Wapakoneta St., Waynesfield, with the Revs. Don Smith and Mark Foor officiating.

Burial will follow of Willowbranch Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by Roundhead VFW Post 8832.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Waynesfield Baptist Church or St. Rita's Hospice.

Betty J. Foor, 85, of Coulters, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015. She was born July 23, 1930, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late James H. and Nellie Baron Dishong. She was the wife of the late Edward W. Foor; and the mother of the late Timothy Foor. She is survived by children, Samuel (Cecelia) Foor, of McKeesport, Darla Wislosky, of Taylor County, W.Va., and Linda (Kenneth) Logsdon, of Coulters; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Andy (Sue) Dishong, of McKeesport.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Cindy Lindow officiating. Burial will follow.

Mentioned in father's will.

From wife's 1892 obituary: she was twice married,
her first marriage was to Peter Hoy, who was accidentally injured while
going home from a class meeting, Aug 12, 1837, from which he died the next
morning. From this marriage one son was born, Rev. Simon P. Hoy. Her
second marriage was to David A. Hoy, who survives her at the age of 84
years. Her first and second husbands were brothers. To the second marriage
seven sons and three daughters were born, all living. There are 33
grandchildren and 6 great granchildren. In 1840, she with her husband,
moved from Pickaway Co, Ohio to Putnam County, Ohio, where they lived for
three years in a wilderness, in a cabin, six miles from a wagon road. In
1843, they returned to Pickaway County, OH, and in 1854, on the 6th day of
October the family reached Shelbyville, Il., and have resided there ever
since, in the locality where she died.

Petersburg, R.D. 1, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Bon Secours Holy
Family Hospital, Altoona. Born Aug. 7, 1933, in Huntingdon County, he
was the son of the late Clifford David Keller and Mary A. (Lightner)
Keller Weaver, who survives in New York. He married Janet A. Berkheimer
July 7,1956, in Hollidaysburg. Mrs. Keller survives, along with two
daughters: Debra K. Smith and Karen L. Lattieri, both of Altoona. There
are two grandchildren. One sister, Clara E. "Sis" Foor of New York,
survives. Mr. Keller attended the Pleasant Valley Assembly of God
Church. Educated in the Juniata Valley School District, he was a truck
driver. He served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 10, 1953, until June 10,
1955. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, at 9 a.m., at the
E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 315 North Seventh Ave., Altoona,
with the Rev. Henry L. Shaffer officiating. Interment will be made in
the Alto Reste Park.
