OBIT: Mary Catherine (Kay) Baydar - Shelbyville Daily Union, Shelbyville, IL.
Mary Catherine (Kay) Baydar, age 67, of Ridgeland, SC, formerly of Shelbyville and Tower Hill, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, November 16, 2003 in Bayview Nursing Center in Beaufort, SC.
Mrs. Baydar was born April 24, 1936 in Tower Hill, the daughter of Alvin Fred and Xenia Geneva Foor Mathias.
Mrs. Baydar was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and formerly taught high school in Nokomis, IL, Goldsboro, NC, Granville, IL, Beaufort, SC and at Abundant Life Academy in Hardeeville, SC. Also surviving are a brother, Ervin Mathias and wife Frances of Burleson, TX; sisters: Maxine Cotton of Shelbyville, Shirley Dahman of Decatur, Agnes Chidley and husband Larry of Dixon, IL and Freda Owen and husband Earl of California, MD; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Bertha Mathias, Selma Emig and Earlene Phelps; and a brother, Alvin Mathias.
