NOTE: This family seemed to completely disappear. I have checked various spellings for George and Margaret knowing they would still be young children by 1860 in the census. I've searched for just Rachel, and also Lorenzo since his name is unique. Nothing. There's a Lorenzo in 1860, 70, and 80 but it's one who was in 1850 in Bartholowmew Co., IN. I have double-checked the 1850 census to see if the surname was, indeed, "Boyer" and it appears to be. I've tried searching for just ANY Lorenzo born about the same year as him and nothing appears to match. I've tried searching for any Rachel born about the same year but still in Fairfield County to see if she perhaps had remarried and her children from this marriage were listed erroneously with the surname of a present marriage. Nothing.

The Mormon familysearch.org site has a user-submitted tiny pedigree which shows William Boyer b abt 1801 "of Franklin Co., OH' who married Mary Gray born about 1805 "of Franklin Co., Ohio" about 1830 in Franklin Co., Ohio. The only child listed for this entire marriage was Harriet Boyer b 13 Nov 1834 in Franklin Co., Ohio died 09 Jan 1910. Doesn't show if she was married or not. User-submitted data does not show an author.

[15506] DOB/MAIDEN NAME/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Bloom Township, Fairfield County, OH", Fairfield Co., Ohio, Chapter OGS, 1996, p 346. Florence Walton, nee Edwards. Years only.

"The next family to have left an impression on my memory was that of my Uncle William Edwards. He was a shoemaker who answered the call of his country and served through the War, but returned wrecked in health and ambition. He was a shoemaker, and resumed his trade, but did not live long thereafter. He left a large family which alone the indomitable will of the widow might provide for. Many children had come to bless their door. Some died very young. Those whom I remember to have reached manhood and womanhood were Charles, Florence, Poca, Juda, Clara, John B., and Virgil. Florence married John Walton, a returned soldier, who had spent something over a year in Andersonville Prison and had survived it's horrors. They lived in Lithopolis many years, raised a family, and then moved to Columbus. He first worked in the carriage factory of Hunter, Oyler and Scheffler, and then started a place of his own for the repair of buggies and carriages and the doing of cabinet work", "THE VILLAGE. POB/DOD/POD/POB: From obituary

June 19, 1998, Detroit Free Press

Clayton Foor, 76, a former general counsel of the Wayne County Road Commission and a special assistant in the state Attorney General's Office, died of a heart attack at Denver International Airport Monday while traveling from Tucson, Ariz., to Detroit.

He was returning home from visiting relatives in Tucson, said his son Robin.

"He helped many people. He was a great friend," Robin Foor said.

Mr. Foor, of Plymouth, specialized in condemnation and transportation law,
which affected the construction of Detroit roadways and Metro Airport.

Born in Detroit in 1921, he graduated from Cooley High School in 1940. He
played varsity football at the University of Michigan but interrupted his
studies to enter the Army during World War II. He met and married his wife,
Rose Ann, while in the Army.

He graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 1948 and worked for the Legal Aid Bureau.

After retiring from the commission in 1979, Mr. Foor took up running and
swimming, went fishing with his family, and enjoyed reading the memoirs of
military generals.

Other survivors include his wife, Rose Ann; stepmother, Thelma Foor; sons
Michael and Kevin; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Bring Mortuary, 6910 East Broadway, in
Tucson. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A burial is
scheduled in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

From son Matthew A. FOOR in January, 1999: "My father was a First Lieutenant
Army Military Police Officer in World War II. And was entombed (ashes) at
Arlington National Cemetery in a full military memorial ceremony on October 9, 1998." He also mentioned that sons Robin and himself were survivors.

[25775] LOCATION: Listed Opal Moore's Feb. 2005 obituary was a son-in-law who preceded her in death, Dennis Foor; daughter Carol (Wil) Watson of Bourbonnais, IL, grandson Matt (Beth) Foor of Bourbonnais, IL; great grandson Nathan Foor. Opal was 87, preceded also in death by husband William W. 'Red' Moore. [Belleville.com, Belleville News-Democrat, Belleville, IL, Feb. 2, 2005]

Listed as Bethany A. Foor, born Oct. 1972, at zabasearch.com. Matthew D. Foor is listed with same birthdate.

2006 - in an article about stay-at-home moms "Bethany Foor, 30, of Bourbonnais, loves staying home with her 3-year-old son, Nathan.

She clearly recalls the bad attitudes she faced after Nathan was born and her co-workers in the corporate world asked if she would be returning to work.

"I heard a lot of women sarcastically say, 'That must be nice,' or 'I wish had that choice."

A lot of planning and preparation needs to go into the choice and "some may not realize they really do have a choice," Foor said. "I am fortunate to be able to do this."

Primarily for social reasons, but also to pull in a few extra bucks, Foor watches a friend's child four to five hours a week."
