NAME/DOB/POB: From California birth records as seen online at RootsWeb.
NOTE: In September 2006 I get an email that came in via the forms on my website. It was this person who says he was adopted, and he listed his date of birth, wives, and children. When replying to him, the email he used on the form was not operable. I tried twice to send to that email but it bounced back both times. I'm not even certain the person saw his name here in the online database.
I "googled" the email id he listed but it came up with no results. I tried a few different variations and nothing looked obvious. I googled his adopted name and found nothing significant. At zabasearch.com I found several Scotts with his adopted last name in Colorado, which is where he stated his two children were born.

For baptismal date it says 07 Jul 1835 (not 1839) though it's with other entries for 1839 -- so am assuming it should be 1839 which would leave the birthdate accurate. However, since there is already a child born in the year 1839, maybe they meant the birthdate should be 1835?

Hattie, passed from them when but two. I can yet see her in memory as she
would toddle about the place. Luther, the eldest son, a painter as his
father, moved to the western part of the state. Horatio went to Chicago,
where he conducted a school for the dance. Olive married George Weiser, for
half century identified with the business interests of the Village, Mary
changed her name to McLean, and moved with her husband to Magnetic Springs in
northwestern Ohio. I do not know what became of George, the third son".
