INDEX

[2223] In the obituary of Elias F. Crow, 82, retired farmer and native of Putnam Co., Ohio, (born 1862, married Rennie M. Clymer 1887) it lists surviving children. One was a daughter, Mrs. Blanche M. Foor of Findlay. Elias married Rennie M. Clymer Oct. 6, 1887. [Lima News, Lima, Ohio, July 23, 1945]

CENSUS: 1940 Findlay, Hancock Co., OH; 602 Findlay Street
FOOR, Charles William, owns home worth $1500, 35y b OH, all 3 reside in same home they did in April 1935. He and Blanche had 2y of high school. Worked 48 hours last week as cemetery caretaker, and 52 weeks in 1939, $600 income
", Blanche M., wife 45y b OH
STHENFHAUGHTS, Geroldine, dau 21y single b IN, college one year, worked 40 hours last week as a dictophone operator at local refinery, worked 36 weeks in 1939 and had a $450 income
NOTE: The last name of daughter was very hard to read. It looks like they originally had a horizontal line where the surname would be which indicates it'd be the same as the person above. Then the long name put in. As noted in Charles William Foor's obit, they had a foster daughter. This must be her.

Blanche M. Crow Foor
Blanche M. Foor, 90, formerly of 1020 W. Main Cross St., died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday at Corinthian Nursing Home, Kenton.
She was born Sept. 21, 1894, in Hancock County to Elias F. and Rennie M. (Clymer) Crow. She married Carl Stevenson in October 1921, and he died Aug. 10, 1924. She later married C. William Foor in July 1939, and he died in February 1953.

DOB/DOD: From Dinah Young, 6490 Fenestra Court, Burke, VA 22015 (Feb 1998) She further states that James was the s/o Daniel and Sarah DODSON, and that the oldest child Harry was not James Dodson's son. "My great-aunt told me this and then in the 1880 there is no Harry living with James and Elizabeth. However, there is a 5 year old Harry FOOR living with his grandfather Peter FOOR. The oldest daughter is listed as Clara. This was a nickname. Most people knew her by this name, even her obituary said her name was Clara. However, her tombstone says Flora Bell. Her daughter told me that her real name was Flora Bell." Dinah gave me the death date of 28 Apr 1915, but I find James Dodson in the 1920 census.

NOTE: This family is very confusing. In 1850 Jacob is 52 and appears to be widowed. In 1850 in a township just north of him is Elizabeth Shride 30y born in Ireland, also appears to be widowed and having a couple children. In 1860 these two families seem to merge, and Jacob's age should be 62 rather than 42, so I had assumed it to be a son named Jacob. I can't find a Jacob born about 1818 in the 1850 census, though.
