She was a homemaker and member of St. Mark Church.

She is survived by her sons, Barry (Marianne) Heston, Robert (Marilyn) Heston, and Scott (Cindy) Heston, all of Lancaster; daughters, Linda (Robert) Hupp, Janice (Ronald) Brady, Janet (Dan) Brown and Bonnie Cottrill, all of Lancaster; 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rod, Chuck and Harold Conrad; sister, Evelyn Blackstone; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Heston; parents; brother, "Red" Conrad; and sister, Judith Doty.

Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sheridan Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sheridan Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Alexander officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.

Foor, Saturday afternoon about 3 o'clock along the river one mile from home. The boy was instantly killed. Coroner Robert Huff, of Saxton, was called and directed the body to be prepared for burial. Donald L. Foor was born in Ray's Cove on Dec. 13, 1921 (??), his parents survive with the following brothers and sisters: Albert J. Foor, at home, and Alfred Foor, of Everett, Howard Foor and Mrs. Virgie Fisher, Mrs. Esther Conner and Mrs. Lela Nelson, all of Akron, O., Mrs. Stella Latta, of Hopwood, PA, and Zolla Foor, of Everett. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian Church in Ray's Cove in charge of Rev. Roy Foor. Interment was made in the Christian Cemetery." [T8389] Valentine was born in Berks Co., PA and came to OH in 1803 to visit the country. By 1805 he married Magdalena Van Reed and came back to Fairfield Co in 1805, purchasing land in Amanda township where he lived out his life. Reared 13 children and served on the Ohio Legislature in 1820. He died in 1828 and his widow married for her second husband, William STAGE but "the union was not a happy one", "Pioneer Period and Pioneer People of Fairfield County, Ohio", C. M. L. Wiseman, 1901, p 325.

According to "Partition Record Abstracts, V2, 1851-1900 Fairfield County, Ohio", Fairfield County Chapter OGS, 1988, p 17, Valentine died in 1828, his widow Magdalena in July 1860. At Valentine's death his heirs were Henry and Samuel Reber, Ann, wife of Andrew Peters; Eliza, wife of Lyman P. Allen; Mary, wife of Horace Huber; Pauline, wife of William S. Clement; John Reber; James Reber of Pickaway Co.; Thomas, William, Charles, Joseph, and Sarah Reber. Sarah, dau. of Valentine, married Johnathan W. Huston and died leaving children.

A Valentine REBER appeared on the 1790 tax list for Bern Twp., Berks Co., PA, p 28, and the Fairfield Co., OH 1810 tax list, p 34.

"In 1803 Valentine Reber came out from Pennsylvania, and entered section ten of the township, and in 1803, he brought out his young wife from Berks
county, and settled on the section.", in the Amanda Township, Fairfield County, Ohio section of: HISTORY OF FAIRFIELD AND PERRY COUNTIES, OHIO, THEIR PAST AND PRESENT, Compiled BY A. A. Graham, W. H. BEERS & CO. 1883, p 201. Also in that book, "Valentine Reber operated a distillery on section 10, where a large quantity of spirits were manufactured. Richard Hooker also owned a small one.", p 203.

DOB/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Amanda Township, Fairfield County, Ohio", Fairfield County Chapter OGS, April 1992, p 67. Valentine died 12 Sep 1828 at 51y 4m 9d. DOB figured from age at death. There is an editor's note in the book that says "According to the late Charles Goslin, local historian, Valentine and Magdalena were first buried in a small cemetery overlooking Clear Creek".

Obituary: ELMWOOD -- Roy E. Strawhacker, 65, of Atkinson, the father of an Elmwood woman, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at his home.
Born May 25, 1933, in Oakville, Iowa, to Mark C. and Lucille Abbott Strawhacker, he married Luella VanWaes Stafford on May 1,
1976, in Rock Island. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Kevin Stafford, Jeff Alexander and Chris Alexander, all of Atkinson, and Doug Strawhacker of Belknap;

Mrs. Foor was born June 24, 1923, in Oakville, the daughter of Mark C. and Lucille Abbott Strawhacker.

She married Billy C. Foor on Nov. 27, 1945, in Wapello. He died on Oct. 29, 1999.

She graduated from Oakville High School.

She worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown during WWII and then at Sylvania in Burlington for eight years. She retired as the school cook in 1987 from the Wapello Community School District.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello and a charter member of TOPS in Wapello.

She enjoyed her grandchildren's sports and school events as well as reading, baking and flowers.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Foor and David Foor and his wife, Dianna, all of Wapello; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marilyn Mintun and her husband, Jim, of Burlington, Jean Hughes of Arab, Ala., and Joann Wehner and her husband, Nelson, of Independence; and two brothers, Russell Strawhacker of Missouri and Marion Strawhacker and his wife, Sharon, of Ft. Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers, Darrell, Richard, Donald and Roy. [Obit found on funeral home website]

WARD Our loving friend Michael W. ''Mike'' Ward left us unexpectedly on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Born April 28, 1960 in Columbus, Mike was employed at Columbus West Park Nursing Home, where he had many friends: co-workers and residents both. Survived by his closest friends with whom he helped make their home a home, Eric and Dayna Woltz, and their children, Jillian, Caitlin, Logan and Dylan of Canal Winchester; the love of his life, his dog, Sadie Mae; also survived by father, Theadore Ward, Sr.; sister, Joyce Damato; nephew, Jason Damato and niece, Melissa Damato; brothers, Danny, Larry and Ted Ward, Jr.; several other nieces and nephews; and special friend with whom he shared many good times, Pam Curtis. Preceded in death by his mother Betty Mae Ward. Mike was a member of the Sons of AmVets Post 2000 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1245, where he had too many friends to mention. He was one of the biggest Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fans. His loving smile, laughter and true friendship will never be forgotten, only missed.
