Among the early settlers of what is now Fulton county was Elijah Barton, grandfather of the gentleman whose name is at the head of this article. He was a native of New Jersey, from which state he came to Fulton county, where he purchased a large tract of land, on which he settled, and on which some of his descendants now reside. He was the father of six children, all of whom are deceased. George Barton, father of Peter M. Barton, was born in Fulton county, and died about 1826. He married Catherine Morgart. She was born in Bedford county. By this union there were eleven children, as follows: John, Morgan, David, Mary Ann, Peter M., Eliza, Philip, Balsar E., George, and two who died in infancy. Four of thses children are living: Mary Ann, widow of Timothy Acres, Peter M., Philip and Balsar E. Peter M. was born March 10, 1816, in Fulton county (Bedford County until 1850). He remained at home until he was twenty-three years of age, at which time he was married to Miss Pennina A. Winters. She was also born in Fulton county, March 3, 1820. She died in August, 1862. By this marriage there were five children: Emma, born August 3, 1842; Margaret, born June 6, 1845; Loretta, born August 30, 1852; Mary C., born July 4, 1855; Caleb J., born May 25, 1858. In November of 1866, he married for his second wife Mrs. Zadoch Whitfield, daughter of Joel and Rebecca (McDaniel) Clark. Two children were born by this marriage: Ella May, born May 17, 1867, and Bertie Blanch, born July 20, 1869.
Mr. Barton has devoted himself to agricultural pursuits, and in his chosen vocation has been eminently successful; his home farm, consisting of two hundred and fifty acres, evidences his skill and thrift. He has alway taken a deep interest in matters ofpublic import, and has occupied various positions of public trust, notably among the number that of county commissioner, which office he filled acceptably for three years.

DOB/DOD came from this submitter, but s/he does not specify any locations of birth, death or burial.
Censuses show that Amelia Beryl was female, and 1930 census with both show "Ethel B. Cornelius" was the male and head-of-household. The word "Ethel" looks more like "Othel" to me, but image hard to read. His parents are residing nearby in the 1930 census.

[T50709]
NAME: Listed as a daughter who preceded her in death, in mother's Nov. 1958 obituary.
OBIT: Rochester News-Sentinel, Rochester, IN, Tues., Dec. 3, 1929
Residents of this community were shocked Monday evening to learn of the sudden death of Mary June FOOR, eight-year-old daughter of Mrs. Emma RAUSCH FOOR, of this city, and Earl FOOR, of Athens, which occurred at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn hospital. Death was due to acute appendicitis.
The child complained of feeling ill on Sunday afternoon but her condition did not become serious until Monday morning. She was removed to the hospital shortly before noon but her condition never became able to permit an operation, death resulting before it could be performed.
Mary June was born in this city and her entire life had been spent here. She was a pupil at the Columbia school and a faithful attendant of the Presbyterian Sunday school.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Emma FOOR, who is head of the English department of the high school in Valparaiso; her father, Earl FOOR, of near Athens; grandparents, Mrs. Mary RAUSCH, of this city, with whom the child lived and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. FOOR, of near Athens. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the home of Mrs. Rausch, 624 Fulton Ave., with Rev. D. S. PERRY in charge. Burial will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

A grandson of William was asked about family stories, to which he replied, 'The main one I recall related to the deaths of several of my grandfather's brothers and sisters in infancy and within the space of a week in October 1863. My grandfather told me they died of typhoid fever and that he remembered his father carrying him across the fields to the neighboring farmhouse to get him away from the children who were sick. Not revealing as to dates or relationships, but poignant, nevertheless.'"
"DAVID ZOLL, farmer, P. O. Findlay, was born in Bloom Township, Fairfield Co., Ohio, September 11, 1812. His parents, Jacob and Mary Ann (Alspach) Zoll, were natives of Schuylkill County, Penn. , and among the earliest settlers of Fairfield County, Ohio. They started with teams for this county, April 15, 1834, and landed April 22, in Eagle Township, where they settled on a tract of 240 acres of land which Jacob Zoll had entered the year before, and at once began to clear up and improve their land. Jacob Zoll departed this life in July, 1861, and his widow in August, 1880, aged eighty-three years. They were parents of nine children: David, Mrs. Ellen Oman, Mrs. Elizabeth Alspach, John, William, Mrs. Mary Ann Fellers (deceased), Joshua, Josiah and Eli. Our subject came to this county with his parents, and married, March 14, 1839, Sarah Crist. He and his wife settled where they now reside, and here they have a fine farm of eighty acres of well improved land. Their union has been blessed with nine children, four of whom are now living: Mrs. Mary Jane Hartman, Rufus R. of Bluffton, Ohio; Jacob W. and William H. They lost three of their children in one week by diphtheria, in October, 1862. Mr. Zoll is a life-long Democrat; has served as township treasurer for ten years. He and his worthy wife are members of the Lutheran Church. He is one of the honored pioneers of Eagle Township, a valuable citizen, highly respected by the community.", "HISTORY OF HANCOCK COUNTY, OHIO", Warner, Beers & CO., 1886, p 720.
