BANNER Wardell Merritt Banner, 79, went home with the Lord on June 6, 2007 at St. Ann's Hospital with family and close friends by his side. Born August 28, 1927, in New Albany, Oh. Preceded in death by father Paul Merritt Banner and mother Helen Foor Banner. Survived by devoted wife, Ruth of 38 1/2 years; daughters, Helen L. and Victoria "Vicki" L. Banner; and special granddaughter, "Puddin" Emily Ruth Patrick. Also survived by children, Barbara Bills, Bradley Banner, Geneva "Jenny" Ward, Jerri Blanton, James Banner and Joanne Banner; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Roby of Whitehall, Oh.; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Proud member of the United States Marine Corps and veteran of World War II. Retired from the Westerville City Schools in 1990. Mrs. Loy who was formerly Clara N. Benson, was the last remaining member of the Benson family. Surviving are two children, Otis B. Loy of Lancaster, and Mrs. Estella Bowman. There are also 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday 1:30 p.m. from the Bowman home, with Rev. Lee, Baltimore minister, officiating. Burial is to be made in the Betzer cemetery by Chester M. Thomen, Carroll undertaker." [Lancaster Daily Eagle, Lancaster, Ohio, Sept 14, 1928, p 8]

NOTE: Although the obituary states she was buried in Betzer cemetery, the cemetery inscription book shows no Clara Benson or Clara Loy. Husband Fred died in 1923 and a listing is shown for him.

BINKLEY Eileen Loretta Binkley, age 78, of Lancaster died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was a life-long resident of Fairfield County and a member of St. Mary Parish in Lancaster. She retired from Bank One many years ago and was a member of Olivedale Senior Center. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. Survived by six loving children, Sue (Bill) Schallmo of New Port Richey, FL, Gary (Brenda) Binkley of Pickerington, Marty (Jo) Binkley and Patty (Sam) Brown, both of Canal Winchester, Dwight (Tami) Binkley and Steve (Kim) Binkley, both of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Verl (Carolyn) Miller of Port Richey, FL, Wit W.H. Miller of Wildwood, FL and Jim (Sharon) Miller of Lancaster; and several nieces, nephews, and special bingo friends. Eileen is preceded in death by husband, Walter O. Binkley; parents, Harold and Nelle Miller; and brother, Neil Miller. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 132 S. High St., Lancaster with Fr. Donald E. Franks as celebrant. Burial will be in Lithopolis Cemetery. Friends may visit today, Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 222 S. Columbus St., Lancaster, with a Vigil service to be held at 7 p.m. We are so glad that you're no longer in pain, Mom. We love you and miss you so very much.
