"Among the best known of the houses as well as the best known of the families
was that of Joseph Brown, the tanner. He was an eastern man, a Yankee, from
the good old state of Massachusetts. His wife was Rebecca, a very capable
woman and an excellent nurse very free to help those needing such services.
The Browns were a family of sorrows. There was a large family to grow up,
but in the early years of marriage that dread disease tuberculosis took a
heavy toll. Three boys, Henry, Charles and Chester, were the older sons to
survive. In their years there was born another son. William, about my age,
and a frequent companion of mine. Chester was killed at the battle of Stone
River. On learning of his fate the father went South immediately and secured
his body for burial in the home cemetery." "THE VILLAGE. MEMORIES OF

2007 - the following was posted to the Foor Family Genealogy guestbook on my website by Sandy Perry:

" I haven't been on this site for several years now, as I've been taking care of my mother, Burnilda (Foor) Buchholz, who has lived in Coal Valley, Il. for the last 50 yrs. on a farm. She had a stroke, followed by a full hysterectomy when we learned she had ovarian cancer. For 3 yrs. she has needed some daily housekeeping, health care, home modifications and chauffering to everywhere she needed to go. This was done by my sister and I while I continued working fulltime. My 2 younger brothers have helped and the farm is still going as a farm. Mom died Dec. 12, 2006 at the farm in Coal Valley with all the family surrounding her. WE are grieving, but know she has gone to be with the Lord, as she was a devout Christian woman who read the Bible and many other books daily. We are blessed to have had such a good mother. Her father was Frank Foor, who lived in Tower Hill, Pana, Shelbyville, Il. Frank's 2nd marriage to Sylvia Henderson produced twin girls, who are in their 50's and live in S. Ill. I'll get thru the website as much as possible and I'm glad to be back, but sad to report my mom's death. Bless you for keeping this going!

Jacqueline May MENDORFF

[16744]

ABT 1937 - ____

Family 1 : Ronald Leland FOOR
Family 2 : Anthony B. GEORGE

 __
|
|--Jacqueline May MENDORFF
|
|__

INDEX

[16744] DOM/POM: Names listed as Ronald Foor, 42, and Jqcqueline M. Esposito and Jacqueline M. Mendorff, 40, (maiden name not designated). Ancestry.com. California Marriage Index, 1960-1985 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: The Generations Network, Inc., 2007.

APPROXIMATE AGE: Listed as being of Eastsound, WA, aged 66 in 2003, "Jacqueline M. George".

The following was found in Skagit County, WA documents online:
Anthony B. George, grantor, "conveys and quitclaims" to Jacqueline May George, whose name may also appear of record as Jacqueline Foor or Jacqueline May Mendorff, 1987.

The second one shows the grantor as Robert J. Bateman for property worth 85 thousand, and conveys and warrants unto Ronald L. Foor and Jacqueline M. Foor, "now known as Jacqueline M. George, formerly husband and wife" , Feb. 1988

The third is a deed of trust between Thomas R. and Joan M. Walsh, husband and wife, who live in Anacortes, WA, and Ronald L. Foor and Jacqueline M. George, fka Jacqueline M. Mendorf, fka Jacqueline M. Foor, whose address is in Anacortes, WA. (fka is "formerly known as"). - May 1988

In a Dec 1988 document "Island Title Company" of Anacortes, WA it mentions "Ronald Foor, a single man and Marilyn Skrinde" is grantor in a deed dated Oct. 2, 1981

"The undersigned as trustee under that certain Deed of Trust, dated Nov. 1, 1979, in which Ronald L. Foor and Jacqueline M. Foor, husband and wife, is grantor and Island Savings and Loan Association, is benefitiary..." is in a documented dated April 1993

It appears that Ronald L. Foor was married at one time to a Jacqueline, who was possibly married PREVIOUS and it appears by the documents to be married AFTER the marriage to Ronald L. Foor, perhaps after he was deceased. My guess is that her subsequent husband was a man with the last name GEORGE, and that her maiden name or prior married name was Mendorff.

An Anthony B. George and Jacqueline M. George are listed in a 2002 document as husband and wife, and borrower's at Keybank National Association, and the George's address appears to be in Eastsound, WA. At ussearch.com there's a Jacqueline M. George of Eastsound, WA, age 66 (in 2003).

This last document of 2002 states it was recorded in wrong county. Eastsound is in San Juan Co., WA.

JOHN MOREHART, farmer, P.O. Vanlue, born October 30, 1830 in Fairfield County, Ohio, is a son of Andrew and Mary (Cashner) Morehart, natives of Pennsylvania, and who came to Ohio in 1817; they were pioneers of Fairfield County, Ohio. In 1832 they came to Hancock County and settled on Section 10, Amanda Township. Andrew Morehart entered eighty acres of land, which he sold in a few years, and then bought eighty acres of a Mr. Brown, and entered 160 acres adjoining it, and there lived until 1855, when he bought 160 acres together with eighty acres now belonging to Mrs. Pratt, and here he lived the remainder of his days. Andrew Morehart was the father of thirteen children: Matilda (deceased), Mary A., Andrew J. (deceased), John, Adam (deceased), Jacob (deceased), Selina, Lydia, Alfred (deceased), Christian (deceased), Noah (deceased), David C. (deceased), and Henry. The father came home and died from the effects of army life. John, the subject of this sketch, was wounded twice, the first time at Resaca, the second time at Atlanta, Ga., where he was captured by the enemy. He was in Andersonville Prison sixty-four days and then exchanged. He married, in 1854, Frances, a daughter of Charles and Alice Hill, who came from Pennsylvania to Hancock County, Ohio, in 1844. Mrs. Morehart is the eldest of five children who settled in Amanda Township, this county. Mr. and Mrs. Morehart have been blessed with twelve children: Alice V. (wife of John Leader), George C. (married to Josephine Howard), Alfred F. and Arminda (deceased), twins, John E., Henry L. and Laura E. (twins), Olive B., Mary C., Lucy J., William F., and Iona F.
