BIRTH: Birthdates differ from informant and obituary, as does the wife's maiden name.
"Last Saturday, November 22nd, my grandpa, Melvin John Foor, died at age 81. He was born January 30, 1916. He was a farmer all his life-- he worked the fields ever since he was able to walk. He and his four brothers were poor growing up, but they "ate good" and learned the values of family and hard work. He was married to my grandma Irene in 1946 and continued to work hard on the farm and in local government. He had three daughters--the youngest of which was my mom.
My grandpa was very special to me. I can't possibly put into words what he
meant. He lived right next door all of my life, and there wasn't a day that
went by that grandpa wasn't poking around in my business. He loved us all very much and there wasn't a thing in the world he wouldn't do for us. My grandpa never had much of a formal education, but I'll tell you that I learned more from that man than I ever will in school or college. From him, anyone could form a model of the perfect husband, father, and grandfather. He was my hero. I will miss him greatly.
Grandpa, I know you always hated these computers, but I know you can see this
now... Thanks grandpa.. for everything you ever did and will ever do for us."
