out where the person came up with the countries he put in for any of the
families he wrote down. I thought perhaps it was meant to list their
ancestors place of origin, but why would George and Harriet's children all
have different countries listed for their parents? And in this entry, why
does the married couple living with them have different last names? Is
Harring perhaps the woman's maiden name?

Janice Miller
Obituary
LANCASTER: Janice (Jan) A. Miller, 70, passed away peacefully on August 16, after a brief illness.
Jan grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. She began rearing her family in Kansas City, Kansas. After her first marriage ended, Jan attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City, completing her Masters of Library Science Degree later at Kent State University. She built a house in Lawrence, Kansas, and moved there to work as an elementary school librarian. There, she met Darrel Miller. They married in 1977 and he moved their blended family to Ohio, which became her beloved home for the rest of her life. Life was full of Bloom-Carroll school activities, an open door to her sons' and grandsons' friends, laughter, challenges, and many life celebrations, such as Halloween bonfires and huge Christmases.
She believed in Christ and followed his teachings as she set a good life example for her family and friends. She worked several years as assistant director of the Wagnalls Memorial Library, striving to schedule her colleagues' work so they could give priority to their families. After retirement, she and Darrel took some wonderful trips, and she devoted much of her time to making her home and yard beautiful and a great place for growing old and gathering her family together.
She is survived by her husband Darrel Miller; three sons: Michael Renard of Lancaster, Douglas Miller (Kathy) of Royalton, and Chris Renard (Jodi) of Dublin; six grandchildren: Andy Renard, Geoff Renard, Brett Renard, Lauren Renard, Kyle Renard, and Nicole Miller; her brother Robert Funk of Tulsa, and her sister Sara Funk of Lenexa, Kansas.
A graveside service for the family will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 20 from 5-8 PM at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Wagnalls Memorial Library in Lithopolis, Ohio in memory of Jan.

NAME: From Sandy Perry, January 1999.
1910 - Mrs. Foor fined $10. An indictment for the disturbance of a religious meeting brought Mrs. Sadie Foor before the bar of the court where she entered a plea of guilty and was fined $10 and costs. The disturbance which caused Mrs. Foor the embarrassment of an indictment and appearance in court, occured in the Methodist church at Robinson Creek, where she and Bertha Foor, the wife of her husband's brother, engaged in fisticuffs over some story that was purported to have been told by one against the other. The brothers are said to have separated their wives, but not until the quietness and sanctity of the Sunday school session which was then in progress was seriously disturbed. Both women were indicted and it is understood Mrs. Bertha Foor will appear in court later in the week and make a similar plea to that of her sister-in-law. (Doc) Obit info from Judith (Evers) Flinn via internet, "info was from the obituaries of both George W. and Mary Jane Weiser. I could not find the year of his death in the clipping from the Ohio Eagle, Lancaster. The clipping states that from he went to Iowa in 1851 and lived there until 1854 when he returned to Ohio and married Mary Jane Homrighaus,"taking her with him to his western home." After about 18 months they returned to Fairfield Co,OH where they lived until 1886, when they moved to Columbus. The obituary for her indicates that he preceded her in death. He died of "apoplexy" and the description indicates that his speech left him after the first attack and the second one killed him." Judith says they had 9 children. Names known are Elmer S., Clara, Emma, Ervin M., and William L.

DOB/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Bloom Township, Fairfield County, OH", Fairfield Co., Ohio, Chapter OGS, 1996, p 258. Only 4 "Lamb"'s shown buried there by book printing in 1996. Besides Alberta, there are two people buried close to her which are probably children: Woodrow died 1912, and Geraldine died 1903. Judith Flinn, via June 2001 email, says that the date of birth the book shows (Aug., 13, 1881) is wrong, as "it is clearly September 13, 1880 on her tombstone".
OBIT: submitted by Judith Evers Flinn via April 2002 email: Alberta, daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Zwayer, was born September 13, 1880, and died January, 1932, aged 51 years, 4 months and 5 days. She was married to Dale Lamb in 1902, to this union were born eight children, three daughters and five sons. Geraldine (Lamb) and Woodrow Wilson (Lamb) preceeded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, two daughters and one daughter-in-law, besides other relatives. She joined Salem Reformed Church in her youth, but on account of sickness she could not attend as regular as she would have liked to. Funeral was conducted at the Thomen Funeral Home, Saturday, at 2 P.M. Burial in Lithopolis cemetery.

"William Zaayer.-Numbered among the industrious and prosperous agriculturists of Sullivan county is William Zaayer, who is actively engaged in his pleasant and independent calling in Cass township, having the management of the parental homestead, which is one of the best and most desirable pieces of property in the neighborhood. A native of Sullivan county, he was born in Haddon township, where his father, Rufus Zaayer, was a pioneer settler. He is the descendant of a soldier of the Revolutionary war, and comes of German ancestry, his great-grandfather, Thomas Zaayer, having emigrated from Germany, his native land, to America in colonial days, afterwards serving under General Washington in the great struggle for American independence. He subsequently lived for a while in Pennsylvania, but from there moved to Ohio, where he spent the remainder of his eighty-one years of earthly life, residing in either Fairfield or Pickaway counties. He reared two sons and one daughter. The daughter married a Mr. Dumm; his son Jacob never left Pennsylvania; his son Joseph was the grandfather of William.
A native of Berks county, Pennsylvania, Joseph Zaayer migrated to Ohio when young, settling in Pickaway county. He had previously learned the tailor's trade, but after his marriage he located on a tract of timbered land given him by his father in Adams township, that county, and thereafter devoted his energies to clearing and improving a homestead. In common with the other pioneers of the place, he raised flax, kept sheep, and labored with earnest toil to clear the land and cultivate the soil, while his good wife, skilled in the domestic arts, carded, spun and wove the homespun in which she clothed the family. He erected a comfortable set of log buildings, and was there a resident until his death, at the age of sixty-eight years. He married Maria Dunkle, a native of Berks county, Pennsylvania, whose father was born on the ocean while his parents were on their way from Germany to this country. She survived her husband, dying on the home farm in Adams township, Ohio, at the age of eighty-one years. She reared thirteen children, as follows: Levi, Colton, William, Leah, John, Seth, Samuel, Rufus, Benjamin, Joseph, Enos, Mary and Daniel."
