Possibly on the same stone is "Elias, son of Christian, aged 5m 5d", or aged 5m 7d, who died 6 July 1862. If it's "5m 7d", that works out to Elias's date of birth being the same date as his mother Mary died, so she must have died in childbirth.

INDEX

[4433] *Are Lovina SLOUGH and John SLOUGH children of Jacob?
- Cannot find Jacob or Lovina in the 1850 census.
- His child Susannah married a FOOR and may have died in childbirth, possibly with the birth of Mary E. FOOR who is 1 in the 1860 census.. Three FOOR children are living with Jacob and Mary in 1860, and a fourth (Mary FOOR) is listed with the Silas PHELPS family. Silas PHELPS was the husband of Lovina SLOUGH. In their 1860 census a John SLOUGH is also living with them.
- The only known connection of Lovina SLOUGH and John SLOUGH to Jacob is that John and Lovina are together in the 1860 census with what may be one of the orphans (Mary E. FOOR) of their sister, Susannah.

DOB/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Bloom Township, Fairfield County, OH",
Fairfield Co., Ohio, Chapter OGS, 1996, p 21. Died at 80y.
POB: Probate record of death shows him as being born Philadelphia, PA, died

SLAW, Jacob: one male under 5, one male 15-20, one male 60-70. Females: one under 5, four 5-10, one 30-40.

1920 - Domestic Discords in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Tipton - prompts Mrs. Tipton to seek relief in the divorce court -- defendant is small storekeeper. An action for divorce and alimony was filed in court Friday afternoon by Mrs. B. F. Tipton against her husband, Benjamin F. Tipton, Sr. She says they were married Jan. 1913 and have not lived together since May 1916. She charges cruelty and gross neglect. She says once before they were married while on their way from church he told her if she would marry him he would give to her his life insurance policy but he never did after they were married and when he collected a payment of $1500 he never gave her a cent, she says. Their domestic troubles started a year after the wedding when he asked her to sign an agreement that each should relinguish claim on the others property. This she repeatedly refused to do. On one of the occasions he told her that the next time he married it would be "for love not money." Plaintiff declares that in order to defeat her claims for alimony he has turned his property over to his son and daughter of a former marriage. She asks that they be made parties defendant to the alimony action and --?quired to set up their claims, if any to the real estate. [Lancaster Daily Eagle, Lancaster, Ohio, July 24, 1920]
