Mrs. Warren, who was the second among six children, was born in Fairfield Co., Ohio, Feb. 9, 1822, and was reared to maturity under the parental roof. After their marriage our subject and his wife located in Pickaway Co., Ohio, where they continued to live until the fall of 1849. At that time they came to this state and made their home in Tower Hill Twp., Shelby Co. There the wife died April 7, 1880. On February 23, 1882, our subject was again married, choosing as his wife Mrs. Elizabeth J. Dum, the widow of Samuel Dum, who died in Fairfield Co., Ohio. He was instructed in the doctrines of the church and was confirmed a member of the Lutheran Church, St. Peters, which faith he has held and cherished to his dying day. On March 11, 1856, he was united in Holy Wedlock to Sarah Ann Ward. To this union were born four children, Martha Jane, Lucy Ann, Leroy Ellsworth and Mary Elizabeth. On May 21, 1912, the good Lord was pleased to call the wife and mother to her reward, having been permitted by God's tender mercy to share the compaionship of her husband for more than a half century. There remain to mourn his departure, 2 children, Leroy Ellsworth, Mary Elizabeth; 2 grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Graham, and 2 brothers, Joshua and Daniel, and a host of relatives and friends. Surely has the Lord been with this servant. He has crowned his life with many years of faithfulness, devotion and service. Funeral at Trinity Evangelical Church, Hocking Township, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. H. C. Getter. As we pay our last respects over his remains, well might we say in the words of the Evangelist John: 'Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord, from henceforth; yea saith the spirit, that they may cease from their labors and thier works do follow them'".
