Authorities on Monday identified a man who was killed by a southbound train as 27-year-old Karey Foor of Ventura.

Foor was was struck about 12:45 p.m. Sunday near Emma Wood State Beach and died there, said Deputy Medical Examiner Mike Feiler.

Foor was attempting to repair his bike on the track. His back was to the freight train and he was wearing stereo headphones, Feiler said. The man's last-known address was at the Magnolia Trailer Park, and he previously lived in Oregon and Florida, Feiler said.

SSDI shows last known address as Tampa, Hillsborough Co., FL. Was issued in card in PA in 1976.

2009 - an article about the deaths on the tracks -- 42 pedestrians killed by trains, nearly 17 percent near a place called Emma Wood. One listing was for Dec. 9, 2001 - "Karey Jay Foor, 27, of Ventura was killed by a train as he sat on the tracks while making a repair or adjustment to his bicycle near Emma Wood. He was listening to music through earphones and probably never heard the train coming, authorities said." [Ventura County Star, Ventura, CA, April 30, 2009]
