*FATHER IS LISTED AS ISAIAH, MOTHER AS SUSAN". In "Henry Co OH" book 3, p 137, it says that "John Wesley FOOR, the son of John David and Samantha Jane FOOR, was born Nov. 14, 1856 in Harrison...". His parents came to their small farm in Harrison Twp from PA in the early 1800s. He was one of 3 children." [This does not make sense. John W. Foor is found in 1860 as 3y old living in Hancock Co., OH]

Then it speaks shortly of "James FOOR, the eldest, lived most of his life in
Toledo, OH" James S. FOOR is living close to Isaiah and family in 1880 census.

The John Wesley in this text claims to have married "May C. MYERS on August 6, 1877" and to this union 3 children were born: Metta FOOR b 13 Sep 1878 who married James D. GOOD, Arkie FOOR b Nov 17, 1881 who m Iva Huff, and Nina FOOR who m Elgy SIEBOLD". This text was submited by a Mildred E. (GOOD) Gallagher.

I do not believe the "John David and Samantha Jane FOOR" is correct since J. W. FOOR is listed as the SON of Isaiah and Susan in the 1880 census. All other info is comparable, even the Isaiah's granddaughter Metta is living with them in 1880, and Metta is listed as a child of JW in the probate births.

DEATH: "Henry County, Ohio", V3, p 137

According to the Henry Co OH, V3 p 137 article, John Wesley and family went
out west abt 1884, before youngest child Nina was born, along with cousin Henry Fellers. By train they took their families to Kansas where they lived in a sod house on the plains. They endured hardships. They tried to farm but the dust storms were so severe that most crops were destroyed. After living there a little over a year, they went farther west, making part of their journey in a covered wagon. They settled in a small town just over the Colorado border where the men did various jobs to provide for their families. After living their nearly a year, The Foors decided to return to the old homestead in Harrison Township, Henry Co OH.

DOD/POD: Name listed as John Wesley Foor, Cert. 3524. "Ohio Death Certificate Index", Ohio Historical Society, online ohiohistory.org.

"Elias Vendermark Miller, oldest child of Rev. Jacob and Mary (Keller) Miller, was born Feb. 22, 1824 in Fairfield County, Ohio. He grew up in that state, attended the district school, and also enjoyed church privileges amid conditions considerably changed from early pioneer times. he early learned the carpenter's trade and was always an expert workman. In the spring of 1844, when he was 20 years old, he joined a party of neighbors and emigrated to Jones County, Ia. Here he pre-empted land, at the edge of the "Big Woods", and built a log house. In Sept. of the same year, his parents and eight younger brothers and sisters came from Ohio to make their future home on the land which he had selected. In this house the youngest child, Judge Benj. H. Miller, was born, making ten children in the family.

... At any rate, on the 13th of January, 1848, he was united in marriage to Susannah GRAUEL. This union was blessed with the birth of four children. On the 24th of Sept., 1855, Mrs. Miller died, and he was left with four little motherless children. He sorrowfully laid his wife away in the Forest Chapel Cemetery in Jones County, Iowa.

... About the year 1890 his health began to fail. During the summer of 1892 he had a paralytic stroke. From this he never fully recovered. On the 26th of March, 1893, he died at his old home, on his farm in Greenfield township, Jones County. His age was 69 years, 1 month, 4 days. He was buried at Forest Chapel, Jones County, Iowa". The Neiswander family is of German extraction and many of its members still live in Pennsylvania and many more in Ohio. From the former State to Pickaway County. Ohio, came Daniel Neiswander and his family, in 1850, when Lewis was but a child. Several years later they removed to Fairfield County. Still later Daniel Neiswander removed to Wood County, Ohio, after a short residence in Putnam County, during which period his wife died. Daniel Neiswander died in Wood County, in advanced age. [History of Pickaway Co., Ohio, and Representative Citizens, Van Cleaf, Chicago, IL., 1906]

Lewis Neiswander was a farmer all his mature life and in pursuing the peaceful pursuits of agriculture he lived a quiet, useful life, and when he died he left behind a good property as well as a good name. He was one of the leading members of the Reformed Church 0f Bloom township, Fairfield County, Ohio, in which he had served as deacon for 17 years and was also one of the elders. In political sentiment he was a Democrat, and, for more than 25 years he was an Odd Fellow.

On August 24, 1869, in Fairfield County, Ohio, Mr. Neiswander was united in marriage with Leah C. Glick, 'who was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, on August 25, 1848, and is a daughter of Daniel and Mary M. (Nothstine) Glick. Daniel Glick, the paternal grandfather of Mrs. Neiswander, was a son of Benjamin Glick, who was born in Pennsylvania and was one of the early settlers of Fairfield County. The maternal grandfather of Mrs. Neiswander was John Nothstine, a very early settler in Madison township. The father of Mrs. Neiswander, now a venerable citizen, in
his 84th year, is one of the most highly esteemed residents of Madison township. His wife passed away in February, 1878. Three of their children still survive, viz.: Leah C. (Mrs. Neiswander) ; Sarah A.. who resides with her sister; and James U., of Columbus.

Mrs. Neiswander resides on her excellent farm of 60 acres in Madison township. She has two children--Minnie V. and Daniel E. In September. 1899, Daniel B. Neiswander was married to Maud B. Runkle, daughter of the late Samuel Runkle, of Franklin County, Ohio; they have two children--Festus C. and Lura V. Since she was 16 years of age Mrs. Neiswander has been a member of the Reformed Church in Bloom township. With her late husband she visited and frequently entertained neighbors all over the township, a pleasant social custom which cemented friendships. Mr. Neiswander was always welcome, being a man of pleasant ways and such sterling character that he had a very wide circle of friends. At home he was beloved for his kindness and justice as husband and father

Later in the biography it mentions "John Manesseh", so I think there's a comma wrong when listing the ch initially.
