He leaves wife, Ina Moulton Baker; 2 nieces, Elnora Stormant of Columbus; and Frances Martin of Lexington, KY. Friends may call at the Kistler's Funeral Home, Lithopolis, after 7pm Monday, where service will be held, Wednesday at 2pm. Burial in Lithopolis Cemetery.

Freda E. Foor, 96, of Everett, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Homewood in Martinsburg.
She was born on July 8, 1912, in West Providence Township, Everett, a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Jane (Pee) Baughman. On August 3, 1934, in Berkley Springs, W.Va., she married William H. Foor. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1996.
She is survived by the following daughters: Betty Lou Clingerman, Everett; Sylvia A. married to John Hixon, Cumberland, Md.; Renee married to Glenn Pepple, Clearville, Pa.; five grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren; and three greatgreat great-grandchildren
She was preceded by the following: son-in-law Robert Clingerman; two brothers, two sisters and a great great-granddaughter.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Everett, where she previously served as a Sunday School teacher for several years and as a financial secretary. She was an avid quilter who served with the church's quilting group and also on the Service Committee for many years.
She was employed as a clerk at the Jolly Kid Shop, Everett, for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at Homewood and Pennknoll Village, where she did the alterations. She was a member of the R.S.V.P. and enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She was recognized as the last surviving daughter of a Civil War veteran for the state of Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 24, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Everett, with Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.
Burial was in Everett Cemetery, Everett.
Akers Funeral Home, Everett, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Julia FENSTERMACHER, 85, pioneer resident of the community, died at the home of her son, Ora, on south Monroe street at 1:30 Monday morning. She had been seriously ill for about a week. Death was due to complications resulting from old age. She was one of the well known residents of the town and her death will be mourned by a large number of friends.
Julia FENSTERMAKER was born July 10, 1838 at Fairfield, Ohio, the daughter of William and Polly FENSTERMAKER and died at the age of 85 years, three months and twelve days. Her maiden name was the same as that of her husband's with a slight difference in spelling. She married Enoch FENSTERMACHER who preceded her in death. Two sons were born to this union, Ora [FENSTERMACHER] and Al [FENSTERMACHER], both of whom survive and live in Rochester. One granddaughter, Helen FENSTERMACHER, also survives. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral at the Ora Fenstermacher residence Tuesday with Rev. D. S. PERRY officiating. Burial at the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

1967 - Car Plunges into Creek, Five Persish - Circleville, Ohio - A 36-year-old woman learning how to drive hit the accelerator instead of the brake at an intersection north of here Tuesday night, sending the car plummeting into a rain swollen creek. She and her four children drowned. Her husband, who was teaching her, survived. Vester Phillips, 31, of rural Ashville told authorities he jumpe from the car before it submerged completely in Big Walnut Creek, then tried to rescue his wife and children. But swift current force him to leave the water, he said. Sheriff's deputies recovered the bodies of Ruby Phillips, 36, and sons Gary, 7, and Donald, 3. Bodies of the other two youngsters, Diana 11 and Wendell, 9, could not be found in nearly five hours of searching by scuba divers. Additional divers resumed the search this morning. At one point during the search for bodies, a distraught Phillips, who suffered only minor physical injuries, tried to jump back into the water. He was restrained by sheriff's deputies and onlookers. A shaken Phillips told of climbing back to the road hysterically and trying to flag down four cars that passed. None stopped, he said. Finally, a farmer who lives nearby heard Phillips' shouts.
