I can't tell which one is the right one. The sex is shown as male. The
year of birth definitely starts with 187 but the last number looks like a 3
or 8, and doesn't work out to being 18 years old as is shown. Also, Jasper

Robert D. Brubaker, 79, of Van Wert went to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:59 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was born July 1, 1924, in Ohio City, the son of the late Vernon Franklin and Bernice (Foor) Brubaker. In 1946, he married Hazel Marie Beck, who preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 1958. On Oct. 22, 1961, he married Linda Spitler, who survives at the residence.
Other survivors include a daughter, Pamela Sue (Brad) Hasis of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three sons, Robert D. "Bob" (Susan) Brubaker II and David L. (Yvonne) Brubaker, both of Van Wert, and Chad (Christa L.) Brubaker of Mansfield; two brothers, Raymond K. (Jeanne) Brubaker of Sun City, Ariz., and Richard (Phyllis) Brubaker of Lima; one sister, Geraldine D. (George) Weck of Convoy, and eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Sarah) Hasis, Justin Hasis, Duaine Healy, Luke Brubaker, Leah Brubaker, Noah Brubaker, Cara Brubaker and Caden Brubaker.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Brubaker and Marvin P. Brubaker.
Mr. Brubaker had worked at Continental Can Company, was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, operated his own carpet cleaning service and was a custodian at Van Wert City Schools. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Van Wert and attended the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Van Wert.
A 1944 graduate of Van Wert High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a tank driver in Company A, 10th Armored Division of the 3rd Army in Europe and North Africa. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Isaac Van Wert Post 178, American Legion in Van Wert, and Van Wert County Chapter, Disabled American Veterans. He also held a private pilots license.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church, Van Wert, the Rev. Michael Berne officiating. Military services will follow the funeral at the church conducted by American Legion Post 178.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and an hour ahead of service time Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
