NO DOCUMENTATION: info from the files of Lori Stucker, 6/1998 - died as a young girl
This may be the child mentioned in this article:
"About one week ago the ten year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Foor, who reside on south Union street, was taken sick with what has since proven to be a bad case of appendicitis. The parents are believers of Christian Science and instead of calling in medical assitance have been praying over the little one, but the child continued to grow worse and finally the neighbors learned of its condition and the matter was reported to the Humane Society. Humane officer Watts being on the sick list, President Dr. Mumaugh of the Society, took the matter in charge, and accompanied by Dr. Laudick, visited the Foor home. The baby was found to be in serious condition and the parents were notified that unless it was given the poper medical attention the Society would take it in charge. It seems there bas been no intentional neglect on the part of the people, they were simply following out their belief and in explaining their action, the mother said they relied on the fifth chapter of James, which reads: -- "If any is sick among you let him call the elders of the church, and let them pray over him. The prayer of faith shall save the sick." The father of the child works for [-ngle-e?]. [Lima Daily News, Lima, Ohio, May 15, 1899]
Note: The above article is written in such a way that the writer doesn't seem to know all the facts. She or he never mentions the gender of the child, nor the first names of the parents. The child is first mentioned as being 10 years old, then later is called a 'baby', and even back then I've never read anything that considered a 10 year old a 'baby'.

The 1880 census would indicate that wife Elizabeth was married before to a PRESSLER who was born in OH and possibly died before this census was taken. That would mean the Elizabeth in the census is not Elizabeth Kesler, and because of the large gap between the ages of children, Maud and Lloyd may be from the union of this Elizabeth and Charles, and that the mother of the other children died sometime after the birth of Luther, abt. 1861, and child Maud, abt. 1873. There is an Elizabeth who matches this description in the cemetery book.

Susannah Schneider's sister, Elizabeth, married Christian Wagenhals. Their son, Adam, attended Wittenberg University, becoming a Lutheran minister as did my great grandfather, his younger first cousin, Reverend Professor Adam Pflueger, at Capital University.
Adam Wagenhals became friends with a classmate, Isaac Funk, who also became a Lutheran minister. Isaac Funk moved to New York City and started a small publishing house. Isaac found he needed help and contacted Adam Wagenhals to join. Adam found the name Wagenhals constantly required spelling and confirmation, so he shortened it to Wagnalls. And the rest you can look up in your Funk & Wagnalls." Don Wurm, descendant, via Nov. 2007 email.
