He was retired from AT&T and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Libby; children, Charlotte (John) Delatorre, Groveport, Steve (Donna) Corwin, Reynoldsburg, Craig (Lisa) Corwin, Lancaster; grandchildren, John (Rachael) Delatorre, Jr., Michelle (Barry) Byers, Jim Delatorre, Brian (Stephanie) Delatorre, Nick Corwin and Josh Corwin; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Hudson, Mich., to Thomas and Clotilda (Will) Marry. He married Romana Casteel and she preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 1981.
Cletus was a life long Hudson area resident. He retired from Tecumseh Products in 1981 with more than 25 years of service.
Surviving Cletus are one daughter, Martha (Billy) Harsh of Morenci, Mich.; one stepdaughter, Janet (Jerry) Foor of California; two grandchildren, William and Charles Harsh, both of Morenci; two stepgrandchildren, Wendy and Tim Foor of California; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Krauss of Fords, N.J.; two sisters-in-law, May Marry and Marie Marry, both of Hudson, and several nieces and nephews. Cletus was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, Rita Marry, Mary Jane Marry and Irene Heimbecker, and five brothers, Earl, Robert, Elmer, Claude and Peter Marry.
Funeral services for Cletus Marry will be Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Fr. H. Paul Ruddy officiating. Interment will follow in Dibble Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

OBIT: Samuel M'Gowan Dies at Residence. Captain Samuel McGowan died at 5:20 Tuesday evening at the family residence, 1303 North College street. He was eighty-seven years old and his death was due to the infirmities of age. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Charles McGowan of Fresno, Cal., and four daughters, Mrs. W. M. McKelvy and Mrs. F. G. Stewart of Chicago, Mrs. A. S. Kazar and Miss Lydia McGowan, both of Decatur. Samuel McGowan was a native of Piqua, Ohio. He was born Jan. 11, 1824. He came to Illinois in 1856 and for a number of years engaged in the hotel business at Clinton, Farmer City, and LeRoy. In 1884 he was elected sheriff of DeWitt county. He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving as captain of Company A, One Hundred and Seventh Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of the Methodist church of Piqua, O. He was also a member of Dunham post 141 G.A.R. of Decatur, and of Macon lodge no. 8, A. F. & A. Masons. The funeral of Captain McGowan will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the family residence, 1303 North College street. The services will be conducted by Rev. T. N. Ewing, Grace Methodist church and will be under the auspices of the G.A.R. The interment will be at Greenwood. [Daily Review, Decatur, IL, Jan. 4, 1911]

JOHN MOREHART, farmer, P.O. Vanlue, born October 30, 1830 in Fairfield County, Ohio, is a son of Andrew and Mary (Cashner) Morehart, natives of Pennsylvania, and who came to Ohio in 1817; they were pioneers of Fairfield County, Ohio. In 1832 they came to Hancock County and settled on Section 10, Amanda Township. Andrew Morehart entered eighty acres of land, which he sold in a few years, and then bought eighty acres of a Mr. Brown, and entered 160 acres adjoining it, and there lived until 1855, when he bought 160 acres together with eighty acres now belonging to Mrs. Pratt, and here he lived the remainder of his days. Andrew Morehart was the father of thirteen children: Matilda (deceased), Mary A., Andrew J. (deceased), John, Adam (deceased), Jacob (deceased), Selina, Lydia, Alfred (deceased), Christian (deceased), Noah (deceased), David C. (deceased), and Henry. John, Adam, Jacob (who died November 13, 1885), David C., Andrew J. and their father served in the army, Andrew J., Adam and David C. dying there. The father came home and died from the effects of army life. John, the subject of this sketch, was wounded twice, the first time at Resaca, the second time at Atlanta, Ga., where he was captured by the enemy. He was in Andersonville Prison sixty-four days and then exchanged. He married, in 1854, Frances, a daughter of Charles and Alice Hill, who came from Pennsylvania to Hancock County, Ohio, in 1844. Mrs. Morehart is the eldest of five children who settled in Amanda Township, this county. Mr. and Mrs. Morehart have been blessed with twelve children: Alice V. (wife of John Leader), George C. (married to Josephine Howard), Alfred F. and Arminda (deceased), twins, John E., Henry L. and Laura E. (twins), Olive B., Mary C., Lucy J., William F., and Iona F. Mr. Morehart now occupies the old homestead of his father, a well regulated farm of fifty-nine acres. He is a member of the G.A.R.; also a member of the United Brethern Church. Mrs. Eva M. Foor, 83, 705 Monroe street, died Wednesday at 4:05 p.m. in Woodlawn hospital, where she had been a patient since Dec. 23. Mrs. Fore had sustained a hip fracture in a fall at her home. Born Oct. 17, 1880 in Newcastle township, she was the daughter of Edmond and Emma Fix Tippy. She had spent her lifetime in this community and was married to William F. Fore who died July 26, 1939. Mrs. Fore was a practical nurse following her husband's death. She belonged to the Grace Methodist church, Order of Eastern Star, Evergreen Rebekah lodge and Victoria Reading Circle.
Surviving are a son, Virl Fore, Noblesville; two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Tural) Kessler, and Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Cessna, both of Rochester, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Velma Marie Bauter, died sept. 29, 1963, and two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. Funeral rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the REv. Ray Mills officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery here.
