"John H. Cain, Bosque County, Texas. Cain served the entire war in Co. A. His widow's pension request in 1914 showed he was found on the roster when he joined in Sep 1861, and was on the roster in 1864 when he surrendered in Alabama. He was paroled in Mississippi. Cain was born in Breckinridge Co, Kentucky, and was the nephew of Benjamen Dowell, the first mayor of El Paso. He returned to Kentucky after the war and married Mary Foor. He spent the rest of his life in Breckinridge, Meade, and Jefferson Counties in Kentucky, and died in 1903. 2-Year-Old Fatally Shoots Self
SMITH TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Police in Smith Township said a 2-year-old boy accidentally shot himself to death after finding a loaded gun.
According to police, emergency crews went to a mobile home at the Tecumseh Village Trailer Court on Lake Park Boulevard after a woman called 911 just after 9 a.m.
A neighbor performed CPR on 2-year-old Jacob D. Foor before EMS rushed him to Alliance Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to a police report, the victim's father, Douglas Foor, is a part-time patrolman with the Minerva Police Department.
Police recovered a 9 mm handgun at the scene.
A tentative ruling by the Stark County coroner says the toddler died of a massive chest injury from a gunshot wound.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
OBIT: The Alliance Review, Nov. 17, 2008
SEBRING -- Jacob Dean Foor, age 2, precious son of Officer Douglas Dean and Amanda K. (Saunier) Foor, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Alliance Community Hospital.

Jacob D. Foor, 2 1/2, was laid to rest Monday in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
His life came to an end Thursday when he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest.
Police agencies joining the funeral procession were Minerva, where the boy's father, Douglas, is a part-time patrolman; Salem; Goshen Township; and a sheriff's department cruiser." [The Review, Alliance, OH; Nov. 18, 2008]
