Presently, he was a student at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, studying International Politics and Real Estate. Previously he was employed with Williams and Sons Lumber Company in Crystal Spring, Pa. After moving to Richmond, he owned and operated Marathon Painting Company and he also owned and operated a dry cleaning company. He enjoyed spending time with his labrador, Douglas, enjoyed art, and was a loving and caring son, grandson, brother and friend who will be greatly missed for his extraordinary spirit and outstanding sense of humor. Published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch on 11/7/2005.

The following was published 11/21/2005 in The Commonwealth Times, Independent Student Press of Virginia Commonwealth University
VCU student Dimitrios E. "D" Foor, 25-year-old entrepreneur and international politics and real estate major, died from head injuries after a car accident Friday, Nov. 4, while driving in Everett, Pa. An injured passenger survived.

Foor, who took classes for three semesters at VCU, studied principles of real estate under the guidance of Robert Taylor, director of Virginia Real Estate Center who teaches in the School of Business.

"He had that drive to go beyond what we were learning," said Taylor, who wondered why Foor was missing class and was surprised to learn of his student's death. "Because of his experience, he could bring an extra little clift to discussion"

Foor's family and friends are invited to honor him at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Byram's Seafood Restaurant, 3215 W. Broad St. He was buried Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Everett, which has a population of about 2,000 people.

"It's a small town," said Anne Ntouskas Johnson, Foor's older sister. "So everywhere we went, someone knew him and had memories of him."

Last April, Dimitrios' father, Chris Tukas, sent his son to Greece for a month. Johnson said Foor had always been proud of his heritage and was captivated by the beauty of the country, but upon returning home Foor told his sister, "There's no place like America."

Johnson said the two were planning to visit Greece again in December.

Foor grew up in Everett with his mother, Theresa E. Foor, and stepfather, E. Veryl Felten, before moving to Richmond at age 19.

"He was 12 years old when I met his mother," Felten said. "He was the finest son that you could ever possibly want. Everybody loved him. I don't think he had any enemies."

Described as outgoing and charismatic, Foor served as the quarterback for his football team and as pitcher and first baseman for his baseball team at Everett Area High School. When he graduated in 1999, Felten said the University of St. Francis in Indiana offered him an $18,000 scholarship to play baseball.

To the dismay of his mother and stepfather, he turned down the scholarship to attend Clarion University in Pennsylvania with one of his best friends.

After about a year, Felten said Foor left Clarion and started working at Williams and Sons Lumber Co., a sawmill in Chrystal Spring, Pa.

"Those days he'd go straight to bed after working," Felten said. "(He realized) he wanted an education, so he could earn money by using his brain and not his back."

In 2001, Foor decided to move to Richmond, so he could spend more time with his father and other relatives. He enrolled in VCU, but Johnson said his interest in school waned because of uncertainty about his future.

Johnson said her brother struggled as a student, but she considered him to be an intelligent man.

"We would have many conversations (during which he told me) he didn't know what he wanted to do with the rest of his life."

After leaving VCU, Foor worked with his father in real estate, and together they started a construction company and dry cleaning business. Inspired and motivated by his businesses, he enrolled in VCU again.

"He was my friend. He was my partner. He was my son," said Chris Tukas, Foor's father, his voice choking up.

Even though Foor and his father may have envisioned a political career, Johnson said Foor would have been just as happy living a simple life with a family and operating his own business.

"He asked for nothing," Tukas said. "But he was always there for everyone else."

Johnson recalled Foor's mischievous behavior and how he often ignored her cautious advice. Sometimes it was just to tease her like a typical younger brother. For example, Johnson said Foor taught his nephew obscenities in Greek. Other times, she said he just thought she was overreacting.

"One time, he bought my 8-year-old son fireworks," Johnson said. "I told him 'You're going to catch the field on fire,' and of course, he ignored me. Sure enough a fire started, and he had to run to stomp it out. That became a big joke to us."

OBIT: Martha [Cramer Baker], daughter of Adam and Sarah Cramer, and wife of David Baker departed this life august 11th 1898, aged 48 years, 2 months and 8 days.
In her youth she united with the U. B. church, but at the age of sixteen she joined the M.E. church at Lithopolis and remained a devoted, earnest Christian worker until the Master said it is enough, come up higher.
On April 22, 1869, she was joined in marriage to David Baker, this union was blessed with six children, three boys and three girls; two girls and one boy having preceeded (sic) her to the spirit world. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, one daughter, two sons, four brothers, three sisters, and a very large number of relatives and friends.
In her sickness, which was of several months duration she bore all with Christian resignation, abiding with unwavering faith in the promises of the bible, and salvation full and complete through Christ. When the summons came for her to depart, she called the family, beginning with the husband, and gave each good council and prayed a special blessing from God upon each member. She talked of her going as calmly and deliberately as one preparing to visit some friend. Her's was a glorious victory, may her mantle fall on all the family.
Her funeral was largely attended, one of the largest ever held at Lithopolis for years. The services were conducted by Rev. Snider of the U. B. church of C. Winchester, assisted by Rev. Jos. Creighton of Lithopolis.

DOB: Figured from age at death.

[T32214] "...Uncle Michael Kramer, a half brother to my father. He had married a Miss
Wells, the daughter of an old sea captain before coming to Ohio. This must
have been about 1850. He was a blacksmith. Here he raised a family of four
sons and two daughters. William was the elder, he served two enlistments
during and following the Civil War. In the second he was stationed on Dry
Tortugas Island during the incarceration there of Dr. Mudd, for assisting in
the escape of the murderer of President Lincoln. After an interval he again
enlisted and lost his life in the Custer Massacre on the Little Big Horn.
Frank, the second son, as well as Albert, the fourth and youngest, served the
community as blacksmiths, later removing to Columbus. Anna married and moved
to the norther part of the state. Lydia married John Whaley". "THE VILLAGE.

Name listed as William Kramer, Co. C., trumpeter, born 1848 in Reading, PA., PA, former occupation was "painter". Enlisted Oct. 7, 1875. With Custer's column, killed,, June 25, 1876, Little Bighorn. [Friends of the Little Big Bighorn Battlefield website; lists of all in the 7th Calvalry muster rolls.]
NAME/DOB: See notes on father Isaac Kramer.

Listed as William Cramer, enlisted as a private on 13 Oct. 1862 at the age of 18, enlisted in Co. A, 10th Cavalry Regiment, Ohio, on 04 Dec 1862, mustered out of same company on 24 July 1865 in Lexington, NC. Historical Data Systems, comp.. American Civil War Soldiers [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: The Generations Network, Inc., 1999.

The following text appears to be of the same William Kramer as it mentions serving under Custer. However, his location of birth, as well as his father's name, are different. Occupations are correct.

His [Oren Mechling Kramer, M.D. b 1873] grandfather, Isaac Kramer, came from Reading, PA, to Ohio in 1835, and settled in the vicinity of the old village of Lithopolis, which at one time was an important quarrying center. He was the village blacksmith, and one of the early day mayors. Doctor Kramer's father, William Kramer, was born and reared near Lithopolis, became a painter and decorator, but at the age of 18 enlisted on Oct. 13, 1862, as a private in Company A. of the Tenth Ohio Cavalry. He servied with that regiment at the beginning of the campaign against Bragg in KY. He was the cavalry division under Kilpatrick throught the advance upon Atlanta and the subsequent campaigns, participating in the battles of Chickamauga, Crosby Creek, Tunnel Hill, Siege of Atlanta, Jonesboro, Sweetwater, Waynesboro, Aiken, South Caroline, and was a hard fighting Union soldier until mustered out July 24, 1865. Shortly after his return home he married. Later he enlisted as a soldier in the regular army. It was his fate and tragic distinction to be with the troops that pursued the Sioux Indians in the campaigns in the Northwest, and he was one of General Custer's men who gave up their lives in the famous massacre of 1876. William Kramer married Elnora Florence Jefferies, who after the death of her husband continued to live on the old farm in Walnut township. She died in 1911 at Hebron, Ohio. She was a devout member of the United Brethren church. Her father James Jefferies, was born in Fauquier County, VA, and came with his parents, William and Hanna (Ball) Jefferies to Ohio in 1820. He was a farmer in Violet township of Fairfield county and after 1854 in Walnut Township. Ancestry.com. Ohio . Provo, UT. MyFamily.com, Inc.. 2004.
