He then supposedly married in 1915 Helen Jane Boyle who was born 26 Nov 1887 in Toronto and died Dec. 7, 1974 in Bermingham, Jefferson Co., AL. The info shows that with wife Nora he had one child, Louis Jr., and with Helen he had one child, Nora M. Machlan. Other wives were "Cecille" and "Florence Oberman". Mitch was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings and tolerated the associated disappointments with customary grace. Mitch's lifelong work was in the water treatment industry and he was a mentor to many colleagues and customers. Jenny Foor, age 48, of Toledo, died suddenly on Sunday, September 28, 2003. She was born on November 12, 1954, to Lewis and Jeanne Cross. Jenny was a 1972 graduate of Start High School. She went on to The University of Toledo, graduating Cum Laude with a BA in Education where she became a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and was voted Outstanding Pledge, and later served as Vice President. After graduation, Jenny served as Reference Chairman for the sorority.
In recent years, Jenny returned to UT to pursue a Masters in Agency Counseling and needed only to finish her thesis to achieve that goal. She was a member of the American Counseling Association.
Jenny will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Scott; parents, Lewis and Jeanne Cross; sisters, Jill Marie (Joey) Stem, Jane Ann (David) Long; adopted sisters, Nancy Jasin, Bridget Bovee, Virginia Reichert, Lynn Ketchmark; nieces and nephews, Jason Foor, Julie Marie Stem, Candy Taylor, Dustin Taylor, Joshua Long and uncle, Joseph Lauber. Her two "girls", Gretal and Gertrude, will also miss her dearly.
In May 2001, Jenny was involved in a serious auto accident that led to the amputation of her left leg this past April. In spite of this, she maintained a cheerful attitude, and many people took comfort from the courage and grace she exhibited. Her example was an inspiration to many. She was also a member of the Clean Air Group.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday (today) from 3-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., just west of Corey Road, where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The family suggests any contributions may be made to the Jenny Foor Memorial Fund.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference. [Toledo Blade, Toledo, Ohio, Sep 30, 2003]

NOTE: This second marriage for Pearl Babcock is not documented. Her first husband, Ray Foor, is married to someone else in 1930 so I went looking for Pearl and her daughter, Gladys. This appears to be them in the 1930 census, and they possibly may even reside in the same house that she and Ray Foor did, as they're both on Providence street in Whitehouse (no house numbers shown on census). Since in 1920 Ray was working at a restaurant, and in 1930 Pearl's new husband Lawrence Garber was a proprietor for a restaurant, it appears that he took over Ray's position and the restaurant and possibly their living quarters were in the same building.

1929 - Marriage license #19290138, application dated 6/17/1929. James Slow, Gladys Foor. No other information included. Wood County Common Pleas court.

[1259] BIRTH: "The Foor Family", George S. Conover, p 3
MARRIAGE: "The Foor Family", George S. Conover, p 3.

"Contrary to the information passed to the present generation of Foors by others, there is NO EVIDENCE that John Fuhr, son of Johann Leonhart Fuhr, migrated to, or even visited, Bedford County, PA. Indeed, the facts given above clearly contradict this assertion.... Where John Foor (Fuhr) senior who settled in Bedford County came from, or who his ancestors were, remains a mystery. Information that he settled in Ray's Cove sometime around 1788 and that he was the father of twelve children has been passed to the present generation. One would assume, and someone has stated, that this information was taken from an old German Bible. If such a written account remains in existence it should be brought forward, notarized, and presented as crucial evidence. Otherwise, the precise account of John Foor's children, like information regarding the origin of John Foor himself, will remain as a missing portion of the Foor heritage". [The Pioneer, Quarterly Newsletter of the Bedford County, PA Historical Society, Oct. 1992, Dr. W. Eugene Foor, V 18 #3]

From "History of Somerset, Bedford and Fulton Counties, Pennsylvania",
Waterman, Watkins & Co., NY 1884. "The Foor family is an old one in this
county (East Providence Township, Bedford/Fulton County), the fifth generation now living here. John FOOR, the progenitor, was a German who lived some years near Philadelphia, and then emigrated to this county and settled while most of this part of the state was a wilderness. His children were Jacob, John, Leonard, Richard, Abraham, Mary and Catherine. The property on which Samuel S. and William H. H. FOOR now live is the ancestral homestead of the family.
Their father, David, left, but later returned and died here. He was the father of 5 sons and 2 daughters. Four sons were enlisted in 1861, three returned. Francis died in a Rebel prison. S. S. FOOR was the first three-years man to enlist from East Providence. He married Margaret SHEELY of West Providence. She died in 1882. The FOOR families were among the first supporters of the Christian Church in this Township".

Bedford County Archives, Vol. 5, page 18. "John FOOR (FUHR) was born 1744 in Philadelphia county and was the son of Johann Lenhart Foor who came from Germany to America in 1742. He furnished a pack horse for the Braddock Expedition, 1755. John Foor married in 1774 in Philadelphia county, served in Washington's Army during the Revolution, under Captains Drine and Shnyder, and migrated to Bedford County, Providence Township about 1788. His son Leonard was born 1779 and married 1810. he had eight children, his eldest son David born 1811 and married about 1835. David's youngest son was Simon Jasper Newton, born 1847, and married Hannah Manspeaker, 1865. Their son, A. F. Foor of Everett, was born 1873."

He served on many boards including the Board of Trustees at Adrian College, Hospice of Lenawee, Lenawee United Way, and Hillsdale Golf and Country Club, where he was a member. He was previously a member of the Hillsdale Rotary. Perry enjoyed singing with the Town and Country Barber Shop Chorus. He was a faithful and active member of the Adrian First United Methodist Church. In addition, he was an avid golfer and Lions fan.
In addition to Barbara, his wife of over 45 years, Perry is survived by their children, Ronald (Lori) Foor and Kristina (David) Leightner; and 7 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Claire Foor and Ruth Faber, and a brother, Benjamin.
