She fought cancer with faith, courage and grace until the Lord told her it was time to come home. Her family will NEVER forget the LOVE and SUNSHINE she blessed them with and will love her forever! We know she will be "our guardian angel" now and KNOW she will either come RUNNING to GREET us with her radiant smile when we get to Heaven's door or "come get us" when it is in God's plan for US to be with her again. We all know the cancer did NOT win as Lori is now in ALL HER GLORY with our heavenly Father. Lori's favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse was made apparent in Lori's lifeGod had a plan and Lori Trusted him. We will always thank God for blessing US with LORI, for blessing Lori and HER life, for HEARING her prayers. We will see you soon Sweet Lori Annie. Your love will always be in our hearts. Obituary written by family members

certificate.
Died at hospital of gangrene in right foot and had leg removed
at mid-thigh. Had been residing at time of death @ 600 S. Detroit, Toledo, OH.
Certificate shows marital status as divorced. Family stories indicate he had
remarried after he divorced 2nd wife. Supposedly left and went "out west"
where he built many bridges and roads. He was a wealthy man at one time, and
an intelligent man when it came to his work. He returned after "many years" to Grand Rapids, OH and lived out the rest of his life with his daughter Emma.
Stories say he came back penniless. Family lore also states he was a"womanizer". According to one source, after he returned he use to plant and
grow vegetables, and hunt opossum. He had an old dirty knife that he used to
clean his opossums with. One day he used the knife to clean his toenails and
apparently cut one of his toes. Gangrene set in. The daughter he was living
with was a nurse, but she apparently didn't see or notice. By the time it was noticed the gangrene had spread too much to save him, even after amputating the one leg.
3rd wife's name is unknown at this time, although the information is known
elsewhere in this family.

Is it the same Rachel Wisely who married ? If this Rachel married in Dec 1829, then this could be the right marriage for Benjamin since in the 1830 census taken just a few months later shows them with no individuals of "children" age. It appears to be just the two of them. Perhaps then, Benjamin died, leaving Rachel as a widow and then she married.
