LOCATION: 1921 - Archie Foor, aged 17, a well known Everett boy, is confined to the Nason Hospital, Roring Spring, suffering from serious gun shot wounds of the right chest and the loss of his left thumb as a result of one of the first hunting accidents in the Everett vicinity. Foor was out for a days hunting and was hustling through a grove near Everett when he stumbled and accidently discharged his shot gun, which he carried in his left hand, the shot blowing off his left thumb and tearing a hole in the right chest. The shot did not penetrate the lung, however, and unless unexpected complications arise, the hospital authorities are expecting him to recover. Prior to being taken to the Roaring Springs insitution the young man was given first aid treatment by a Everett physician", [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, Nov. 11, 1921].

INDEX

[29544] The following is from George Krueger, Feb. 2008 emails:

"I am doing research on my family and have been able to trace them back to living on a farm outside of Lockville in Fairfeild county. My grandfather was David Christian Krueger, his wife was Anna Regina (Beckman) Krueger and children were Augusta Maria, Caroline Louise, and Carl Frederick William. They arrived in Lockville, Ohio in 1863 from Prussia and lived for a short time with David's sister Mary (Krueger), I do not know the last name. David did farmwork for an Andrews family and later a farmer named Crumley who later allowed him to sharecrop on the farm. Family members also worked for a Mithoff family that owned a distillery in Lancaster. I have found the mother and children listed in the 1870 Bloom Township census spelled Keiger and the 1880 Amanda Township census spelled Kruger. I believe that David died from over working in flooded farm fields in the late 1860's and would be b uried in Fairfield cnty somewhere close to Lockville. I know that Augusta married a Levi Oman in 1884 in Columbus and moved to Kansas. The rest of family moved to Ks in the 80's.

"I do know a little more about the family. They arrived from Prussia on the ship Deutschland on the 2nd of Nov. 1863. Father was David Christian Krueger, b. in 1820, his wife Anna Regina (Beckman) Krueger b. Sept. 2, 1820, 2 daughters, Augusta and Caroline, born respectively in 1848 & 1850, and a son William, born in 1855. I know that they came to Lockville as David had a married sister who had immigrated to Lockville a few years before. I do not know her married name. I also know that David's brother came to the U.S. a few years later but they never made contact in the U.S.
I have found the burial places of the mother and all 3 children, all in Kansas, just haven't been able to locate David."

We feel the David Kreger, who died Feb. 1, 1870 aged 49y 9m 20d and is buried in Lithopolis Cem., is probably the "David Christian Krueger" listed here.

Mr. Plotner, born April 28, 1844, near Lockville, Ohio, was the son of Jacob and Mary (Moreheart) Plotner. He had two brothers, Jerry Plotner, born August 30, 1850, near Canal Winchester, Ohio, who lived in Section 2, Crittenden
