Survived by her son, Willis R. (Pam) Matney, Platteville, CO; daughter, Teresa A. (Ted) Evans, Westerville; grandchildren, Michael, Timothy & Anthony Matney, Melissa Jackson, Jennifer Stavrianou, Kimberly & Andrew Evans; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Boltz, Doris Fleitz & Joyce Stanfield; brothers, Al & John Bellomy; sister-in-law, Dolores Bivens; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George W. Matney in 2002; sister, Clara Thomas; and brothers, Charles, Jerry, James, Roy & Nathan Bellomy.

Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow at Betzer Cemetery.

ANOTHER NOTE: In A Standard History of Kansas and Kansas, written & compiled by William E. Connelley, Secretary of the Kansas State Historical Society, Topeka. Chicago: Lewis Publishing Company, copyright 1918; transcribed by Casey Metcalf, student from USD 508, Baxter Springs Middle School, Baxter Springs, Kansas, February 25, 1998, there is a biography on William A. CORMANY who was born twelve miles from Lithopolis where their wagon broke down on the way to Lancaster from PA. He was born 27 Jan 1841 to William (b 1810 in Edinburg, Scotland) and Margaret (COLDSMITH) CORMANY. William b 1810 (Possible brother to John?) worked as a harnessmaker in Lancaster. In 1862 they went to IL where the mother died in the following year. She "grieved herself to death over the fact that she could learn nothing as to the fate of her three sons, George, Jacob and William A., who served through the Civil War as Union Soldiers". The father died in 1880. He had been a soldier during the Mexican War.

OBIT: Mrs. Samuel Wert - Mrs. Edith Solt Wert, 69, died suddenly of a heart attack Thursday about midnight at her home, 2207 N. Fourth St., Columbus. She was a former resident of the Canal Winchester and Lithopolis communities. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Wert; a daughter Mrs. Kathleen Lehman, Ringgold; and a son, robert h. Solt, Canal Winchester, Rt. 2. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Carol Conner, Germany; Mrs. Faye McCormick, Detroit, four stepsons: Carl Wert, Ft. Worth, TX; Wilbert Wert, Mifflintown, PA; Gerald Wert, Thompsontown, PA; David Wert, Harrisburg, PA; and a sister, Mrs. Irene Weiser, Detroit. Friends may call at the J. E. Grimes Funeral Home, Canal Winchester, after 6 p.m. Saturday. funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Grimes Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Ridenour officiating. After marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bunn settled in the house occupied by his parents, who moved into the house next south of their original home. Henry Bunn died there in May, 1848, and after his death his widow cam to live with her son, Frederick, where she died in August, 1860."
