[28318] "Jacob Bartsh, farmer, P.O. Geneva, is a native of Baden, Germany. He was born in the year 1812. He was raised a farmer, and received a common-school education. In 1832 he came to America, and first stopped at Lithopolis, Ohio, and worked in a hotel, and in 1834 he went to New Lancaster, and the following year he joined a circus and traveled with them for four years, and then hired as coachman in Cincinnati, and lived there about seven years. During the latter part of the time, he kept a livery stable, and then went to farming in Shelby Co., Ohio, where he lived a number of years. He then, in 1850, came to Du Page County, and bought eight-five acres in Winfield Twp., finally getting 230 acres. While in Cincinnati he married Ragena harmon, a native of Alsace, France. She died here in Du Page County, and was buried in Geneva. They had nine childrne, of whom four are living. About four years after the death of his first wife, he married Mrs. Fogt. OBIT: Jonathan Foor, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home in East Providence Twonship on Friday, May 22, from the effects of a paralytic strocke, at the age of 69 years 5 months and two days. His wife, Mrs. Mary Foor, died on Saturday, May 16, aged 69 years six months and 18 days. They leave the following children. Rev. S. W. W., G. B., Charles, Francis, Benjamin and Mrs. Lydia Spencer, all of East Providence. The funeral was held at the Christian church last Sunday, conduected by Rev. J. H. Barney, the services bein gin charge o fthe Sons of Veterans of Ray's Hill. [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, May 29, 1908]

Dale H. Larimer Dale H. Larimer, 72, of Pleasant Gap, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, surrounded by family at his winter home in Palmetto, Fla. Dale was born and raised in Bellefonte, graduating in the class of 1956. After serving three years in the Marines, he returned to Bellefonte and married his high school sweet heart Kay Foore. He worked for 32 years for United Federal Savings, retiring in 1993. Dale is a Life Member of the BPOE (Elks), Bellefonte Lodge 1094. Dale was an avid bowler, earning spots at both state and national tournaments over the years. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kay; his daughter, Cathy Jo (Ross) Baney, of Bellefonte, his daughter, Amy Jo Larimer, of Bellefonte, and his son, Chris (Jennie), of Pensacola, Fla. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Michelle and Jennifer Baney, Justin Johnson, and Neil, Nicholas, and Benjamin Larimer; and great-grandson, Isaac Johnson. Dale is the son of the late Herbert and Mildred Larimer. He has been preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Gray, and Kenneth. Surviving are brother, Charles "Rusty" (Charlotte), of Bellefonte; and sisters, Virginia (Jim) Sager, of Bellefonte, and Louise (Skip) Martin, of Vero Beach, Fla. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of Dale's life and final services will be held in Pleasant Gap, with details to be announced closer to that time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, 179 S. Main St., Pleasant Gap, PA 16823.

Born December 7, 1917 in Canal Winchester to the late Ervin & Erie (Morehart) Moore, she was a graduate of Canal Winchester High School. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Reber Chapter #161 O.E.S., the American Legion Auxiliary, CW Senior Citizens, the CW FFA Alumni, and volunteered for the Lithopolis Fine Arts Assoc.
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Moore (Diana) Haynes, D.V.M.; daughter, Ruth Anne (John) Bitler, all of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Heather (Nathanael Long) Haynes-Long, Falls Church, VA, David Haynes, Canal Winchester, Dr. Jaquelyn Bitler, Chicago, Gregory (Jessica) Haynes, Pickerington, Zachary Haynes, Canal Winchester; special caregiver, Beatrice Wetherell; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Woodrow "Woody" Haynes in 1999; and brothers, John Lewis Moore and Donald Moore.
Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Monday at Hope United Methodist Church, 83 E. Columbus St., Canal Winchester, with the Rev. Linda Wallick officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. There will be an Eastern Star service 7:45 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Aaron Sands resides on section 6, Okaw Township, Shelby Co (IL) where he
rents 294 acres of land. He has resided in Shelby Co since 1864, having come
west first to OH from native home in Berks Co PA where he was born May 8,
1833. Son of Wm & Catherine Sands who removed to Fairfield Co OH in 1835
where they lived until 1865 when they came to IL where father died in Shelby
Co in 1870 (marker says 1869). Mother still living and enjoying green old
age. Aaron married Julyann Foor in 1860 in OH, dau of Henry & Caroline Foor.
