Rachel A. Foor, wife of Edward Foor of near Hopewell, died Monday, Sept. 7, in the Huntingdon Hospital. She was a daughter of David and Hannah (Stiffler) Bollman, both deceased, and was born Oct. 22, 1875. Surviving are her husband, two sisters, Jane Giffin of Altoona and Minnie Foor of Hopewell, Rt. 1, and two brothers, John of Hopewell, and William C. of Gallitzin.
The body was brought to her late home. Funeral services were conducted in the Cypher Christian Church, of which deceased was a member, on Sept. 9, at 2 p.m., Rev. Coy Foor officiating. WEDDING BELLS: "The marriage of Ervin E. Foor and Miss Bess Dutton, the accomplished daughter of S. W. Dutton, Esq., occurred at the residence of the brides parents, Tuesday evening, April 17. Promptly at 7:30 Miss Minnie Dutton struck up the wedding march and the party filed into the parlor where Rev. J. B. Martin pronounced the words which made them one. Mr. Fred Foor and Miss Sadie Foor stood up with the contracting parties. The company was large though confined to relatives. The supper was all that could be desired and the presents numerous and appropriate. The happy pair were favored with a serenade by the Tower Hill Brass Band, and also by a party of young friends who sang a number of pieces in fine style. Mrs. and Mrs. Foor have the best wishes of all for long life and happiness." David H. Hescox, 76, 603 N. Fifth St., Bellwood, died Tuesday, September 7,
1999, at his residence. He was born August 29, 1923, in Bellwood, the son of
the late Howard B. and Flossie L. (Miller) Hescox. He married Rose V. Stetter
November 11, 1944, in Columbia, SC. Mr. Hescox attended the New Life Assembly
of God Church, Pinecroft. He retired as a machine shop operator from
Admiral Perry Vocational Technical School, Ebensburg, in 1985, following 22 years of service. He previously taught at Penn Cambria High School for seven years, was formerly employed as a machinist at the Pennsylvania Railroad for 17 years, and previously was employed by SKF Industries. Mr. Hescox was a 1941 graduate of Penn State University and a member of Lamda Sigma Fraternity. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Mr. Hescox enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Tyrone Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Altoona Consistory, was active in the United Way campaign and a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Surviving are his wife; a son, David D. of Tyrone RD 2; three daughters: Donna D. and Hope E Foor, both of Bellwood, and Karen L. Riley of Altoona RD 4; a foster
daughter, Nancy McFalls of Downingtown, and a foster son, Raymond Mock of
Hollidaysburg, both of whom were raised in the home; a brother W. Kahl of
Bellwood; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be
received from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Jon
C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
HESCOX- Services for David H. Hescox of 603 N. Fifth Street, Bellwood, will
be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, with the
Rev. William Royse officiating. Interment will be made at Logan Valley
Cemetery, Bellwood. Friends will be received from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
today, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. this evening, and 10
until the 11 a.m. services Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Hescox was a
former member of the Jaffa Shrine and a former member of the local Teamsters
Union, AFLCIO. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald, and a sister,
Lillian Brown.

Columbus Citizen Journal, Front page, Aug 8, 1928 Killed In Fall -- Mrs. Nancy Brobst, 71, Slips on Stairs of Home -- Internal injuries suffered when she fell down the stairs of her home 2 am Wednesday caused the death of Mrs. Nancy Brobst, 71, wife of George Brobst of 544 Sycamore St. Mrs. Brobst had been a resident of Columbus since 1901, coming here from a farm near Lithopolis. She leaves her husband, a son Roy of Chicago, three grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Simon Runkle of Lithopolis, and a brother John C Swoyer. Funeral services will be held from the residence at 3pm Friday with a service at the Grace Lutheran Church of which she was a member. Burial will be at East Lawn Burial Park.
OBIT: Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Nancy Brobst, aged 71, wife of George Brobst, who was killed when she fell down the stairway of her home at 544 Sycamore St., Columbus. Mrs. Brobst ws formerly nancy Swoyer and once lived in Washington twp., Pickaway Co. She was a niece of William Heffner of the Heffner Grain Co., a sister-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brobst and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brobst, and an aunt of Robert and Ethel Brobst, all of Circleville. She also leaves her husband, one son, one daughter and one sister. Mrs. Brobst had been a sufferer from dropsy. She arose Wednesday morning before other members of the family and it is believed she lost her balance while descending the stairs. Her ribs were fractured and the coroner found that her lungs and heart probably were punctured by broken bones. She had lived in Columbus 27 years. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Brobst home and from Grace Lutheran church at 2:30 with interment in East Lawn Burial Park, Columbus. ZUCK Raymond W. Zuck, age 94, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010. WW II Army Veteran. He was a well known sign painter and artist by profession in the Columbus Area. Raymond enjoyed his life with his extended family of numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Alice, his parents Norman and Elizabeth, sisters Helen, Hilda, Florene, Clara and Edna, brothers Norman and Lawrence. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main Street in Groveport, where the funeral service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. Entombment Lithopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Winchester Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 36 Lehman Dr., Canal Winchester, OH. 43110.
