[T57553]
NAME/DOB/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH", Fairfield County Gen. Soc., Chapter OGS, 1996, p 68. Name listed as David A. Dennison. Years only 1874-1918.
NOTE: Both David and his brother Homer have remarkable changes in their ages on census records. David's cemetery tombstone shows his birth year as 1874, yet in the 1880 census he's listed as only being 2 rather than 6. The age of 2 is probably much more accurate then his ages in later censuses -- same as his brother who got younger by 5 years. It appears that David could not read or write since he signed his registration with an "X". As with Homer, it would be interesting to see what date of birth is listed in probate records for him. Also, their brother Charlie who in 1900 is listed with the mother and their step father as 20 being born Dec 1879, would've shown up on the 1880 census with them if that were the case. Charlie's draft registration card shows him born Dec. 4, 1877. That date of birth is actually the more likely birth of David, who was also born Dec. 4th. I have researched for 25 years now, and my guess is that this family was not very literate, nor very 'close', and birthdates were not recorded or remembered.

Listed as deceased in the following text:
"Upon first coming to this state our subject [Abraham Ordel] spent two years in Edwards and Tazewell Counties, then, returning to Ohio, was married in Fairfield County to Miss Mary J. Hoshor, who was born there Feb. 8, 1833. Her parents were George and Mary (Litzenberger) Hoshor, natives of Pennsylvania, but of Germany ancestry. They removed to Ohio before their marriage, their wedding also taking place in Fairfield county. The father was born in 1800, followed farming all his life, and departed hence in 1882. The mother is yet living in Ohio. Mrs. O. was reared in her Native county and remained with her parents until her marriage. Of her union with our subject there were born nine children, two of whom, M. Catherine and Edward, are deceased. Those living are Ida B., and George, married, and John, Emma E., William H., Samuel and Franklin at home. After the marriage of our subject he settled with his wife upon a farm in Fairfield County, Ohio, where they remained until their removal to this State. They became residents of Champaign County in 1871, operating on rented land in Philo Township two years before the purchase of their present homestead. Both are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, of Raymond Township, of which Mr. O. is Trustee." "Portrait and Biographical Album of Champaign Co., IL", Chapman Bros., Chicago, 1887, p 302.
