POBurial: Name listed as David Brobst, died June 20, 1885, aged 74y 3m 10d. Cemetery transcription by Donna Walters posted ca 2002 to the Pickaway Co., Ohio, GenWeb website.
"David Brobst, deceased, was for many years an honored and highly respected citizen of Fairfield county, Ohio. He was born on the 10th of March, 1821, in Bloom township, where he spent his entire life, and rpresented one of the first families in the county. He established the post office at Marcy and there engaged in merchandising, building up an extensive trade, his patronage steadily increasing as the years passed by. He also engaged in buying wool on a very large scale, controlling that trade through a wide area. He also dealt in clover seed and in various branches of his business he met with excellent success, his efforts being attended by a high degree of prosperity. In politics he generally supported the Republican party and in religious belief was a Lutheran, holding membership in Trinity church of Marcy. Mr. Brobst passed away in 1895, at th age of seventy years, and in his death the community realized that it had lost one of its valued citizens. He was a very active and influential man and his efforts had been of pratical benefit to the community as well as to himself and family, while his life was at all times consistent with upright business principles and manly conduct.
"Mr. Brobst was twice married, his first wife being Leigh Culp, and to them were born eight daughters, namely: Manerva, Malinda, Pauline, Emma, Alice, Sarah, Mary and Fannie. On the 19th of September, 1876, Mr. Brobst was united in marriage to Miss Cilicia Dove, who was also born in Bloom township in 1846, and is a representative of one of its old and respected families, being a daughter of Elijah and Mary (Small) Dove, the former a native of Bloom township and the later of Pennsylvania. Her paternal grandfather was Henry Dove, who possessed a most wonderful memory. The family was founded in Fairfield county at an early period in its development and became one of prominence in Bloom township. The parents of Mrs. Brobst were people of religious convictions and earnest Christians, commanding the respect of all with whom they were associated. Mr. Dove carried on agricultural pursuits and was well known in political circles, holding a number of township offices in which he discharged his duties in a very prompt and faithful manner. He died in December, 1896, at the age of eighty-four years, having survived his wife, who passed away on the 1st day of September, 1884, at the age of sixty-four years. She became the mother of 15 children, thirteen of whom reached years of maturity, and ten of the number are now living.
"Mrs. Brobst spent her girlhood under the parental roof, where she became familiar with the duties of the household. Since her husband's death she has conducted the business which he left and is now enjoying a good trade. She carries a complete stock of merchandise and her earnest desire to please, her fair prices and good business methods have won for her very gratifying and creditable success. She also has charge of the postoffice. She is a lady of unusual ability, possessing business and executive force as well as the graces of social life, which render her a favorite in social circles. OBIT: Marysville Journal-Tribune, Marysville, Ohio.
PAUL ARNOLD FOOR
Paul Arnold Foor, 47, of Marysville, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at
his home after an extended illness with his wife and daughters were at
his side.
He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed sharing his talents with his
family and many friends. He was formerly employed in the packaging
department of Scotts. He was a 1974 graduate of Marysville High School
and was dearly loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a loving
husband, a devoted father and grandfather and a good friend. He loved
fishing, playing bingo and country music and possessed a talent for
drawing and woodworking. He was very appreciative of the gifts given him
and the friendships he shared.
He was born Jan. 12, 1958, in Delaware to the late Charles and Betty
Moore Foor Sr. He was preceded in death by his father on Jan. 14, 1996,
and by a daughter, Betty Lee Siders Foor, on April 18, 1993.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 27 years, Brenda Siders Foor, to
whom he was married on May 7, 1977; two daughters, Jennifer Ann (Shanon)
Ervin and Paulina (Richard) Foley of Marysville; his mother and
stepfather, Betty and James Wyatt of Mount Gilead; six grandchildren,
Xavier, Fabian Cortez and Akira Sue Ervin and Makayla Lee, Ivory
Caroline and Daren Earl Foley; three brothers, Charles (Barbara) Foor
Jr. of Milford Center, William (Kecia) Foor of Lakeland, Fla., and

Marysville and Sandra (Rick) Gall of North Lewisburg; five adopted
siblings, Kristina, Brandy, Kaitlyn, Whitney and Montanna Wyatt; two
stepbrothers, David (Libby) Wyatt of Raymond and James Wyatt Jr. of
Marysville; eight brothers- and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and
nephews and countless friends.
After cremation, services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Mannasmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
NOTE: I cannot figure out who the daughter is who preceded him in death mentioned as "Betty Lee Siders Foor" who, according to the obituary, died on April 18, 1993. In looking through the online social security death index, there is no Betty Foor or Betty Siders who died in 1993.
