NAME/DOB: "The Foor Family", George S. Conover, p 24, 27 (No spouse listed)
NOTE: This family is very hard to track. This information should be considered undocumented and use as a guide, only. Elizabeth b 1844 supposedly had children out of wedlock, OR, perhaps she married someone with the last name FOOR. In 1850 she's living with her parents and is "Elizabeth", four years old. In 1860 she's living with her parents and is shown as being "Elizabeth" and 16 years old. In 1870 she's still living with parents and is shown as being "Elizabeth" and 28 years old. By 1880 she's living with her widowed mother, and the 3 people living with the mother are all shown as children. I think that the only one that's really a daughter is Elizabeth, who is shown as "Mary E.", age 37. The other two children listed I believe are actually Elizabeth's. Conover's booklet shows that these are the names of her children, too. In 1900 I find a Mary RILEY living as the head of household with a CROOKS family. The female CROOK is listed as her daughter, Harriet. By 1910, Elizabeth b 1844 is listed as "Elizabeth Foor", a widowed mother in law of the CROOKS family.

NAME: From daughter's baptism listing.
Case #632 - estate of Joseph HOYMAn of Clearcreek Twp. Administrators were Peter Glick and Eli Barker. Widow was Magdalena Hoyman. "Fairfield County Will and Estate Abstracts, Cases 501-1000", Fairfield County Chapter OGS, 1997, p 14.
"Joseph was born after 1794 (1820 census shows him under age 26, see more on 1820 census below) in Penn (1880 census Pickaway Co. for likely son Joshua shows father and mother born Pa). He died about Jan 1828 (Fairfield Co. estate case 632 includes several estate administration records dated Jan 28, 1828), likely in Fairfield Co. (Fairfield County Will and Estate Abstracts, a publication of the Fairfield Chapter OGS, compiled by Jean Collier, says he "of Clearcreek Township" and his widow was "Magdalen" Hoyman). Executors of the estate were Peter Glick and Eli Barker. Joseph is listed (as Joseph "Hoymen") in the 1820 US Census for Madison Township, Pickaway Co. as being under age 26 and engaged in agriculture. The oldest female in the household (presumed to be Magalena) is in the same age category (consistent with her 1795 date of birth known from another source). There are 5 children (2 male and 3 female), all under age 10 (see more under wife Magdalena below).
Likely brother of Joseph is Jacob Hoyman (or, less likely, father) who married Susan Shoup 1807 in Fairfield Co. Likely daughters of Jacob are Elizabeth and Polly." [info in quotes from J. Philips via June 2001 email.]
